Can't Believe It's Not Meat - Vegan restaurant in Chicago - 1368 1/2 E 53rd St, USA

Easily TOP 3 of my FAVORITE restaurants in Chicago! Though I haven’t had the chance to dine in, I did order! My first order, was followed up by a second the next day. That followed up to a third and finally fourth day! This is what I ordered: My number one favorite on the menu so far: „Ms. Patty Melt“ 5/5 - of course I ordered the 100% vegan option with added on onions. With a side of vegan ranch, this is your perfect fast food meal! Seasoned well, tastes delicious and texture was perfect. Dip the Ms. patty melt into some vegan ranch and Bon Appetit! The fries were also great! Next I ordered „World Famous Chik‘n Nuggets“ - original not spicy. - 4/5 They were crispy and tasty! The reason why I give it 4 from 5 is; because they were good! Really good! But not the the best I’ve ever had. The title though, gave me very high expectations; had it just been „chik‘n nuggets, I would/could have been more „forgiving“. Next up: „Hold up! Wait a min!“ Philly Cheesesteak - 4/5 - delicious sandwich! I can recommend it! I can however not give it a solid 5 because it did not taste as good as „ms patty melt“ in my opinion. It was good though! I did. Like the jalapeños that were added! Last option: „Philly Chik‘n Egg Rolls. 3.5/5 also not my favorite but pretty tasty. The rolls were very crispy, too crispy for my taste. Still a good option! Just not my first choice in their fantastic menu. Final Statement: I was very happy to have found this place to order from. As a vegan, traveling the world; it can get difficult finding delicious places like this BUT… they do exist; you just have to search. To simplify your search, I can highly recommend this here restaurant! (I ordered- can’t speak for dining in) Lastly, I musst also speak upon one unfortunate property. I am a vegan for many reasons, one of my most important reasons: Animal Cruelty. Therefor I cannot condone anything that involves this subject. This restaurant unfortunately also serves vegetarian food which itself, in a way; supports the whole matter of cruelty. Therefore I hope and wish that one day this restaurant will turn into 100% animal cruelty free. If you’ve read this review, thank you and Bon Appetit! You will find something delicious! The atmosphere here is really nice. The store is brightly lit with nice decor and soothing time playing while you wait for your food. I ordered the vegan Chicago styled hot dog and the vegan buffalo wings and the flavor was amazing! I loved the taste of everything and the food was very fresh. I’d visit again for sure.

15 minute wait time for fantastic vegan food. I'd highly suggest a visit here. I got the boneless wings which tasted just like real boneless wings (I'm not vegan). My partner had the big Mic and she loved it. It's been 20+ years since she's had a real big mac but she thought it tasted just like one. (I should have taken a bite to verify). There is no seating at this location. Grab your food and eat in Nichols Park.

Aye that Big Mik was hitting, I damn near thought I was eating beef. That mf was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Lady at front was cool as hell great customer service. She was asking questions as well as suggesting options

Came to town for the Taste of Chicago and this, EASILY, was the best thing I've had for the trip... And they're weren't even at the Taste. It's hard to find places that can genuinely give you a good vegan/vegetarian burger outside of a black bean burger. I most definitely plan on going back before I leave and I'll most definitely make that trip from Florida to get my fix,lol.

Cute little greenery decor. Yummy food choices for both vegans and vegetarians. The simple chicken sandwich was yummy especially with the vegan mayo!

My wife and I wanted to try this spot for the longest, and will we return I think NOT AT ALL! Forget how it tasted which was basic Philly Cheesesteaks, but we spent 40 f****** dollars and they weren’t even foot longs. Way too expensive and only got like 10 fries. Black owned or not we agreed we won’t be back.

Everything was great. I had the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls & a Mango Peach Lemonade. Just have one complaint to make - the staff in the back of the house is very unprofessional. They was giving the cashier, Tatianna R., a hard time by not listening, not making orders she asked them to make and arguing with her. If it didn’t take me 40 min by bus to get there I would’ve just left and went somewhere else. Nobody wants to walk into an establishment listening to the staff arguing. It’s very unprofessional.
