Canoe Outpost-Little Manatee River - Canoe & kayak rental service in Wimauma - 18001 US-301, USA

My boyfriend and I rented a tandem kayak and went on with our little manatee river adventure. We also got to meet, River and Mr. Skittle two very sweet and nice resident cats and a beautiful peacock named Elvis. The staff were so very nice and we had an amazing time kayaking through the river. We saw a lot of wild life, some beautiful birds, small lizards, turtles, fishes and the highlights: manatees swimming under our kayaks and eating grass along the side where almost half their body was out of water! We also saw a gator swimming peacefully along. It was such a wonderful experience! We’re definitely going to come back!

We had such a great time! The service was superb! We had 2 adults and 3 kids (16/14/12) and it took us about 3 hours to kayak 6 miles. We started around 2pm. I would suggest an earlier start time to avoid the rush at the end (last pick up is 5pm). We saw an alligator, heron, tons of turtles and fish. Bathroom stop around the halfway mark was nice. We would highly recommend and had a blast!

My fiancée and I rented a tandem kayak we have never kayaked in Florida before and this was so much fun! It was super easy to check in, the staff were so informative and kind! We also got to meet the resident cat:) the water was low so we had to get out a few times but it was part of the adventure! It was a long paddle so bring snacks and plenty of water! We saw big turtles, and where the water got deeper we saw a manatee swim under our kayak and then we saw one munching on the grasses! We didn’t see any alligators but the people before us did. It was very relaxing and a beautiful place! Thank you!

Took the trip number one kayak river tour. Loved it! Check-in was easy, they gave us a little instructional talk before we left showing us the exact route. They even had a picture book to show you landmarks and signs so there’s no way you could get lost! It was a perfect day, saw lots of wildlife. They picked us up at the end of the trip so we didn’t have to paddle back. Highly recommend.

This has no connection to the state park --- Many people live here full-time, but unfortunately, a significant number of residents struggle with drug and alcohol problems. The environment feels unsafe, especially for families with children, due to the presence of dysfunctional individuals and those with criminal backgrounds. It’s clear that the place needs serious attention and improvement. The owner appears more interested in the monthly income than in the well-being and safety of the residents. This place urgently needs to be cleaned up and better managed to ensure a secure and healthy living environment for all. -

Brian Jr., the co-owner/manager here, goes above and beyond for his guests, as does the whole staff here!!!! The cabins were nicely decorated, clean, and well stocked with everything you'd need in a home away from home. I HIGHLY recommend this place for camping, canoeing/kayaking or both. Well worth the trip!

Really loved this place! The river was relatively easy and the current does a lot of the work for you downstream. There's a handful of areas where you have to navigate around some downed trees but the river is pretty wide in most places and it's nothing to hard to navigate around. Defintely remember to bring your bug spray though, lots of mosquitoes! Also at check in they go over the route with you and show you a picture book full of landmarks and approximately how far out you are from the pickup point at that particularly landmark. I really loved this part, I've kayaked all over Florida at this point and this was the first place I've seen do something this detailed! It's a great tool, especially for beginners, that makes this river easy to navigate. Also they have a lot of signs posted before the pickup point so it's very clear where you need to turn. I will definitely be visiting again and you should too! :)

Took 2 canoes down the river. Excellent service and instructions from staff. Would recommend for adults and children. Looking into renting a cabin here in the future as well.
