Cannon Mountain Rv Park - Featured Reviews (87)
Tiny RV park, in a fantastic location in Franconia Notch. Everything you need, nothing you don't! A fire pit, picnic table, and full hookup. But be aware the sites are basically at the edge of a parking lot. We stayed for a quick overnight to enjoy the spectacular fall foliage and do some hiking and biking and found the location ideal. Especially since parking can get difficult during autumn. It's located directly across the road from the Artists Bluff hiking trail, a short hike with stunning view. Your fee includes entrance to Echo Beach, which is just over the hill and offers swimming and boats for rent. Access the Franconia Bike path is just a few yards down the road and it's an easy and lovely bike ride to the Cannon Mountain Ariel Tram and the ski Museum! We loved it. Also be aware no dogs are allowed.
We took a rest here on our trip north, it was well worth it. Absolute picturesque lake with surrounding hills. Wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by quite a few walking and climbing trails that made our break more enjoyable.
It's a parking lot with full hook-up......but .....Location, Location, Location. We love this area because there is so much natural beauty. So we were happy to find this spot near Cannon Mountain and Echo Lake. When you stay here there is no charge to use the lake. If you are an early riser, walk down to the lake with your coffee and sit awhile. You'll have it all to yourself before it opens to the public.
We stayed in October and it's great to have a full hook up site. With mobility challenges, I was looking for a spot with views from the trailer and this spot has absolutely perfect mountain scenery. We stayed in site 6. This small RV park has a near perfect location. Although not easily accessible to get to, there is a nice paved path along the lake and with a little assistance, I was able to use my electric scooter for more great views of the lake. This location offers easy access to area attractions such as The Basin, Boise Rock, Old Man of the Mountain and the White Mountain Washington Hotel. Fall foliage season was at peak during our visit with vibrant colors. This small RV area is adjacent to a parking lot, so there are people back and forth and we felt very safe. Note: This RV park is for self contained campers/trailers.
While the RV campground only has 7 sites that sit at the back of a large parking lot that is a staging area for many of the outdoor activities in the area. While daytime is busy, by early evening it clears out and all is quiet and peaceful until mid-morning. The backdrop of the White Mountains just can't be beat. BUT, more NH State Park Rangers need to be patrolling this area because some people are using the reserved campsite picnic tables as their own...as squatters. We were there a week ago with our motorhome and after being out for the day in Jeep, came back to find a large family using the picnic table behind our coach, and with many small children running around (near the coach with slides out). They were "invited" to leave promptly....and did. In speaking with Echo Lake staff and other campers who frequent this area this apparently is becoming an increasingly frequent problem and does need to be addressed. We felt safe but intruded upon. We have been camping in Franconia State Park for more than 25 years and appreciate this is a popular spot due to the beauty and attractions but also hate to see this become a problem area. I would have given this a 5-star rating had it not been for this issue.
Beautiful place with many activities. The RV spaces are tight but it’s all as advertised. Beach access was well managed with reservation system. It was really nice to be able to go to the lake from our campsite.
3 way hook up for RVs. 15/30amp. Reserve online. Great location for all the local spots.
This was great camping. Just a 5 min walk to the lifts!
