Candlewood Suites Texas City, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Texas City - 1700 N Hwy 146, USA

After having driven down from OKC to Texas City on the way to a cruise, we attempted to book into a hotel down the road. It didn't work and I fell back to an IGH hotel, in this case, Candlewood Suites. (I usually do pick IGH hotels first, so that was mistake one) They had a room, it was marvelous, and their staff that we interacted with was fantastic. Denny was working the front desk and she was like a ray of sunshine for us. I made an error booking the room on the way over by picking the wrong dates. It wasn't an issue and she got us all taken care of. They were doing a remodel, but nothing was in the way and nothing was actually going on while we were there. This location is fairly close to an HEB and with the kitchenette in the room, this makes for a great combination. I would highly recommend a stay here if you're looking for one, be it for pleasure, leisure or business.

Positive: It was older but clean. the evening front desk clerk was truly the best part of my stay. Negative: I would have liked to know when I book that the hotel it was under renovations. The room directly above mine was being worked on and was quiet noise most of the day. Negative: ""

This is our second time staying at this location and both times we have been impressed with the staff; their friendliness and hospitality! The location is great if you are arriving to the area for a cruise out of Galveston! The rooms were clean and comfortable! It would be nice if the hotel offered a complimentary hot breakfast! I would definitely stay at this location again and absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for accommodations in the area!

Now I love a candlewood but this one is operated by someone who really cares about his customers. I've been working nights and they have been super accommodating and went as far as to call a maid in to clean just my room while I was at work the same day I requested it and yo top it off she did the best cleaning job doing my dishes and everything. All without being incentivised with a tip! As a person who has spent a large portion of my life in hotels I know when an owner truly cares and these people are some of the best! It makes life so much better and I hope they see this message!

The staff was great and the room was clean and comfortable. We was able to take our fur baby and they put us at the end of the hallway for easy access. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels and wash cloths folded neatly.

We stayed here after an 8 hour drive to spend the night before leaving for a 14 day cruise! Management and staff were amazing and very friendly! We encountered a few issues with our room but management was very quick to try to resolve the issues, even going as far as moving us to an upgraded room, which we did not accept because we were only staying for the night and they were minor issues. Management even went as far as adding 2000 loyalty points to my account for the inconvenience! The only complaint I really have is that this property doesn't offer a "hot breakfast", only coffee and muffins. For a quick overnight stay, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone planning a overnight stay for a cruise out of Galveston!

This hotel is an awesome hotel! i loved everything about this hotel!! the bed was extremely comfortable!! the room itself was great! i loved how you had the option to cook in the room. i even told my husband that someone could actuallt live here and be okay. it felt like a little apartment! it wa great!
