Candlewood Suites Memphis - Southaven, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Southaven - 6753 Airways Blvd, USA

Great suite with very comfortable bed. Hotel was very quiet however, it was Christmas Eve and I expected it to be so. Friendly staff. All kinds of shopping and restaurants in the walkable area. The pet fee, however, was way too expensive. Other IHG properties charge in the range of $20-$25. This hotel was $75 and really unnecessary except to make some money. Kids do more damage than a dog. Charge less and check the room upon checkout, and charge the customer accordingly.

Terrible hotel with unsavory people roaming about. Doesn't feel safe at all. Uncharacteristic for a IHG property. Pool was full of kids wearing regular clothes to swim. Hallway downstairs smelled like weed. Didn't feel safe leaving my car with stuff in it in the parking lot. Our room had a hole in the sink with a bucket to catch water. The inside of the closet wasn't finished with putty on the wall. Stains all over the carpet and old furniture with dings and marks. We asked the woman at the front desk to change hotels and she said she couldn't do anything since the GM wasn't in. I asked when the GM would be in. Monday. This was on Friday night. The person that makes decisions isn't reachable on weekends? Unbelievable. Someone also tried walking into our room at 8am. Said they didn't know anyone was in the room. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express a week earlier in the same neighborhood and it was fine. Avoid this spot like the plague unless you enjoy staying in the ghetto.

After checking in, we noticed the floors and carpets were very dirty (and stayed this way the 6 days we were there). The first room they checked us into, the bathroom sink and vanity was leaking and had black mold all in it. We notified staff and they immediately got us into a new room. The smell in this room was very dank and musty. We controlled it with air freshener. The people who used the patio that week, threw their chicken bones in the grass and not the trash. Our dog choked on 2 different ones I couldn't find and pick up. Pool was clean and staff were courteous and helpful but as far as IHG comfort and cleanliness standards go I feel this one isn't there. Also lots of commercial air traffic next door and semis backing into nearby mall all hours of the night.

I love the location of this hotel it’s in the middle of all the shopping centers. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchenette allowed me to provide for my family without eating out every night. I definitely will be recommending to all my friends and family.

The staff were very polite and accommodating. Unfortunately, this is the worst kept Candlewood Suites hotel I have stayed at over the years. The carpet in my room was stained and seemed filthy dirty. The chairs were dirty and stained as well. There were holes in the walls and in the bathroom, the fixtures were broken. The toilet paper holder wouldn’t hole the roll of TP, the support handle on the tub/shower had a broken piece on the support bracket. The caulk on the tub was dirty and collecting bacteria. My guest wouldn’t even go in the pool due to them feeling it was dirty. Lastly, there was an area in the hall carpet that sank in walking across the area. As a Holiday INN vacation owner and a IHG guest,I expect the facilities to be much cleaner and the rooms to be in better condition. I transfer a lot of points over to IHG from my Holiday INN vacation properties each year and I expect clean and quality IHG properties to stay at during my travels.

No stars if you ask me but I have to give one :/ ! I'm an IHG EMPLOYEE & I was coming in town the weekend before Thanksgiving do to a family emergency. & the GM was completely rude when I called to confirm & add my sister to the room ! I've been in the hotel business over 5 years now & I do know that all do not run exactly same in different cities. My flight was arriving 11pm that night & the GM canceled my reservation without my knowledge. I guess she was mad that I called back asking for her name. I did report the GM after our conversation i had with her on the phone beforeshe canceledmy reservation. She had threaten that she would canceled my reservation after I was trying to explain my reasoning but she didn't care and all because i said congratulations on being a GM smh. After I told her there was no need to cancel my reservation because of that. Again I expressed that i was coming in town do to a family emergency & that i would be in late & i really needed my room. She then told me that my reservation was good & that it would be ready once I got there. If it wasn't for me checking my reservation before I got on my flight I would've showed up with no room. This is how you DO NOT treat people. I was completely stressed having to now find other arrangements just minutes before boarding my flight. & this isn't the first time. I've booked a room for my sister once before here & she was also rude to my sister. I would never spend my hard earned money with this hotel or even recommend ANYONE after the treatment i incantered with the GM. She seemed very heartless to me. & all I wanted was to come in town, take care of my family & get back home. I could've rebooked but I didn't & why would I if the GM was as rude & disrespectful as she was for canceling my reservation without my knowledge. She would've did it again or had someone to do so.

Never again! Room was clean but not equipped. No hairdryer just 1 fork and spoon. Couldn't use patio outside pool for drunken men. Young men smoking pot at our entrance in and out of Hotel. We watched a young man looking under cars to steal catalytic convertors. I felt very threatened every time I took my dogs for a walk. Beer bottles, bottle cans and cans and cigerette butts everywhere. No complementary coffee, that's a first for us in all our years of traveling. We will request that my husbands company never book us in a Candlewood again. The only really good thing I can say is that the young man at the desk was a sweetheart.

While being in the middle of everything, the hotel is still very quiet and isn't bombarded with traffic noise from the main road. The front staff was extremely kind and relatable. Rooms were super clean.
