Candlewood Suites Lake Mary, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Lake Mary - 1130 Greenwood Blvd, USA

This unassuming, out-of-the-way hotel doesn't claim to be fancy... If that's what you're looking for, maybe not for you. BUT... If you're looking for an inexpensive, clean, spacious room with lots of extras like fully applianced kitchen (cook top, dishwasher, full sized fridge, cabinets and cooking utensils/dishes), iron/ironing board, hair dryer, even make up wipes in the bathroom. The property has some great amenities as well... And for me, the most amazing one is the FREE LAUNDRY! Also, swimming pool, grills, fitness center and an area with items you can borrow like books, games, grilling utensils, additional kitchen items, etc. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. I had a very minor issue during my stay and it was handled quickly and with a smile, in a way that left me feeling like a valued customer whose issue was important to management. They were thoughtful, kind and listened to the problem, working with me to find a solution that worked for all parties. All-in-all, perhaps not the area's premier, modern hotel. But I was very satisfied, especially for the money! Great value and top of the line service! Will be back and highly recommend!

I was extremity happy with our stay here! I only had one complaint, the room smelled a bit, like an animal had been in that room before us. I always carry Lysol spray, so that took care of that! We have fur babies at home and, this hotel allows pests. I may bring my dogg night time I stay here. There WILL be a next time. The full kitchen was a plus! I saved a ton of money cooking in the room. The price was cheep and the staff were wonderful!!! Located in a safe neighborhood as well! Can't wait to see ya soon!!

My flight home got delayed and I had to find a hotel for the night. So after calling 5-6 hotels this place had available rooms. As an IHG Platinum member I was offered a Double bed suite, which I took. The total cost was $113.85 for the night. When I arrived and got into the room the room smelled musty and the carpet was dirty. I was so exhausted and needed to sleep fast and get up at 3am to go back to Sanford Airport. I was very disappointed in the condition of the room, another couple on my flight experienced the same in their room on a different floor. So needless to say I would never again stay here or recommend to anyone. IHG is my favorite brand and I have always had wonderful experiences. Very disappointed.

5 STARS for Candlewood Suites! The hotel is clean, provides everything you need - free use of pots, pans, plates, silverware, etc. and provides complimentary laundry use, complimentary Costa coffee, and stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, etc. The bed was so comfortable as well. Also, the staff members were so helpful and friendly. Special kudos to Jeremy and Donna who went above and beyond!!! We will definitely stay here again!!!

Positive: Hotel was clean, staff was helpful & nice, bed was comfy, kitchen was a plus, coffee all day in the little store was great, coffee was freshly brewed, pool was perfect size. Hotel was located of the beaten path so it was very quiet. Negative: I don't have anything I didn't like about the hotel but if your looking to be walking distance to shops and Resturants you'll need to drive. Negative: ""

The staff and managers especially Shirlene the general manager where absolutely amazing to us. The helped make a very unexpected hardship in our lives not so bad. They were very kind and helpful and I definitely recommend this hotel and we will be back soon.

An issue at home left us with a need to have a place to crash a couple nights. The rooms are very well laid out. The bed is great. You get a full-size fridge, a mini stove range, a dishwasher (pretty darn cool!) and the bathroom is quite spacious. The cleaning service is pretty low tier; there was a syringe under the lamp on my side of the bed, the window and TV were not wiped down. There are no power outlets on my side of the bed, and the convenience shop wants $4 for a 12oz BodyArmor. Yeah. Most galling for 'spergs like me, is the ancient TV. It doesn't cast. It isn't smart. It has twenty channels, and it's not compatible with anything you plug into its USB port. I have a hard drive I have formatted specifically for dinosaur TVs, and this Kmart LG is so bottom end, it's not even going to try with that. The wear and tear in the rooms and halls is okay and totally not a big deal. But when you have Costco and Amazon, you can manage a TV that does more than rerun spoiled obese housewives bullying their low-T husbands into terrible houses, and dramas ramrodding The Message down my throat as I drift off. Bring your headset to your room, watch your step in your room, and hit the grocer on your way to the hotel, and the place is probably a 4.5 most of the time.

Would I stay here again, yes. Are there some issues, yes. I have seen some complaints about the rooms. My room was clean and did not smell moldy. I was happy with it. The issue, I was right on the corner where I-4 was so there was definitely traffic noise though. I was able to sleep but it was a bit annoying. Staff was very friendly to me, no issues there. Candlewood is in the hotel class that usually has a breakfast option, the fact they don't have anything is a negative. Also, the hotel is in like an L shape and the entrance to the hotel is right by where the two sections meet so people sit out there and smoke and the building traps the smoke there. So I had to walk through a wall of smoke to get inside. However, I got a clean room and it was not expensive so I would probably stay there again.
