We’ve stayed here before and were excited that there were openings! The checkin staff member was extremely friendly and helpful! Derek went above and beyond for us making our stay even better! The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. We loved having a recliner in each room and the kitchenettes were so convenient for our leftovers, reheating, and being able to cook breakfast. The lobby is inviting and comfortable. There is a fantastic outside area with multiple seating arrangements for different groups to gather without feeling awkward. The location is awesome. There’s an Outback Steakhouse just on the other side of the parking lot. The mall is less than a half mile. Some stores have closed in it but there’s a Regal Cinema and Mooneys is a great restaurant. We walked there easily. We went to golf courses that were around 10 minutes away that were beautiful. We definitely plan to come back!
We ordered 2 rooms. One was good, the other one wad so stinky, that we refused to take it. The guy in the front desk took my wife to check another room, which was decent, and my wife asked him to wait so I can check it too. When I came, we found out that the guy already gave the room to someone else, and there was no other room left but the stinky one. We were ending taking only one room, which I stayed in with the dog, and my wife with kids took a room in the next door Marriott which was 25% more expensive but much better, includes a restaurant and swimming pool which this hotel doesn't have. The great thing about this hotel is that unlike the Marriott, it is a dog friendly. My room was clean, bathroom not new but very decent, with amazing water pressure and no lack of hot water (like in the nearby Marriott). There is a nice grass area to walk around the hotel with a dog, includes waste collection stations. There is also a nice gazebo with barbecue and tables. I also want to say that when I did the checkout, a different staffer was very generous and gave me extra time, which I really appreciate it.
We spent 1 night here to visit Watkins Glenn State Park-it was about 20 minute drive from the park. Front desk staff very polite, knowledgeable and helpful as far as things to do and where things are distance wise. Room was comfortable and clean the kitchenette was very convenient- although the pillows were not comfortable. This hotel is more of a residence type of hotel for long term stays - most IHG properties we stay at have a restaurant on site. This one does not but there is an outback steakhouse right across the street walking distance. Also there are plenty of places to eat on Franklin Street in town of Watkins Glen. All rooms have either kitchen or kitchenette to make meals. There is also no pool at this hotel. There is an outdoor patio area for BBQ and relaxing. They offer free coffee and tea all day long in the lobby snack store. I have nothing negative to say other than the pillows. I would stay here again.
I just got back from a two night stay at Candlewood Suites. The room was spacious and clean and I loved that it had a full kitchen (refrigerator/freezer, two burner stove, dishwasher, and microwave). The real plus to this place was the staff. Everyone was so nice especially Ashley and Derek. The first night I got there I immediately turned on the tv as I unpacked. The tv wasn't working and nothing I did would fix it. Ashley was able to fix it and as someone who needs the tv on to fall asleep (it helps with my anxiety) this was a big deal to me and Ashley was so kind and helpful. The next morning I just had a few questions about the hotel and Derek was also very kind and helpful. As I was waiting for my Uber today Derek's interactions with other guests were completely pleasant and professional. The other things that were nice about the hotel was that Outback was right across the parking lot, so at least there was a food option nearby that you didn't need to get to by driving. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic. I've stayed at a lot of hotels over the years from budget hotels to higher end hotels and all of them have water pressure in the shower like you're being rained on. It would take forever to take a shower because the water pressure was so light that it added at least ten minutes to your shower. At Candlewood Suites, the water pressure was just like my shower home and I was able to take a normal length shower. I definitely enjoyed my short stay there and would definitely stay there again if I am ever back in the area.
This is a two-star hotel but within that limitation it was excellent. The staff especially was very sweet to my wife. I was working during the week and she was in the hotel and out and around Elmira. It does have limited kitchen facilities which is about the best you can find in this region
Positive: Being pet, friendly with free parking and Wi-Fi Negative: 1. The noise of the person above us walking across the floor until 1 AM2. Asked for a pet friendly room with two beds. ended up with one bed & on the second floor
Room was nice and clean, beds and pillows were comfortable. Ashley at the front desk was great and very friendly. Disappointed that the website wasn’t clear there is no breakfast served here.
Positive: Nothing Negative: I booked this hotel simply because it stated pet friendly. After traveling an hour, getting held up I called enroute to the hotel just incase if it was specific rooms and the gentleman that answered the phone stated its only for service animals. Negative: ""

We were looking for an early breakfast and stumbled on this historic diner. The food was delicious, portions large, service outstanding and the atmosphere was fun and lively between the staff and locals. What a rare treat.
I ordered a meal that I had mixed feelings on. I didn't like what I got. The waitress wanted to make it right. She was doing everything she could to make it right. I told her "I am the one who selected the meal and told her thank you for your great

A family owned diner serving Chinese/American food. Service is very good! We got the crab rangoon, hot and sour soup, general tsos chicken, and pork fried rice. Everything was delicious, and the price is great. Highly recommended!

I haven't been to an Outback in a while, and this definitely renewed my interest in this restaurant chain. Their Tasmanian chili, which had no beans, contained steak pieces and was definitely worth the price. It was delicious! Their Strawberry salad
