Candlewood Suites Georgetown, an IHG Hotel - Featured Reviews (241)
Service was nice but once we got into our room it was like they didn’t even clean it . There was dirt/mud on the carpet and also on the covers. The pillows were nice but had hair on them. The stove wasn’t cleaned . And the chair has a hole in it. Overall wouldn’t book this place again .
My family was in to attend our son's graduation and the hotel is close to the school. That's the only positive, we had 2 rooms, one of the rooms had problems with all the lights, most of the bulbs were burnt out and all of the beds were smaller than advertised (queens were full, and king was queen). On top of that, the place didn't smell very well and the elevator was not working properly. I would never put my family here ever again. We can do better than that Georgetown.
Update**
They mentioned that a credit was provided but I received confirmation from my family that it hasn't occurred.
This hotel is overpriced for the worn-out rooms and furniture. The beds were very uncomfortable and hard. It's a good thing the room had two full beds, because my husband and I had to sleep separately because they were so small. The person checking us in was extremely slow and unfriendly. We will not be using this hotel in Georgetown, Texas, again.
Since this is an extended-stay hotel, the rooms are a good size (almost like an apartment) with a full kitchen that includes a dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, sink, and full-sized refrigerator. They also provide silverware and plates/cups. Room service does only clean once a week though, so if you need extra towels you have to request them from the front desk. Downsides I experienced were that laminate flooring in my kitchen was coming up and the laminate boards kept getting shifted around in place and fully coming out of their grooves and I kept having to put the flooring back down. The trash cans in the hallways also only got emptied every 4-5 days, even when they were clearly overflowing and guests were having to put trash around the can instead of in it. This caused the area around the trash cans in the hallways to become smelly with rotten food smell.
Overall, a good hotel for a week-long or more work trip on a budget.
Our trailer needed work and we booked for two nights and then a third. The kitchenette was perfect with the large fridge that allowed us to save all our food from going bad in the trailer. We made meals using the items in the fully stocked kitchen. The king bed was very comfortable, we had a great sleep. The women at the front desk are professional and friendly, we felt welcomed when we checked in. Any problems we brought to the receptionist were fixed promptly. The cleaning staff are also very pleasant and brought us things that we asked for. This is a hotel for longer stays so your room gets cleaned weekly. Frankly, I liked that, not having people in and out of the room. The exercise room and free laundry facilities was a great perk.
The front desk ladies were friendly and informative. The rooms not so great though. The bed was like 4 inches from the wall so sharing a bed was tough. The bed wasnt comfy either.
Hotel is a bit funky to get to but not a big deal after the first time. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms...well. The first room, the toilet wouldn't flush. They quickly moved us to a different room. The room was ok. Slight smell of old popcorn. The furnishing need to be tossed and replaced. The chairs well worn. But worst was the bed. The box spring was super noisy due to it being old and starting to collapse. Spent the night trying not to move and wake up my wife. :) On the positive side, they are supposed to be doing a remodel of the rooms this year.
The staff/management at this Candlewood location was exceptional. Actually felt like they cared about the building and guests staying there. Very well maintained facility as well as accommodating staff. I work nights and sleep during the day, and sometimes at other hotels would have housekeeping barge in while I was sleeping despite do not disturb signs, but not here. Didn’t have a single problem during my entire stay that they weren’t able to figure out a solution for.
My girlfriend moved for a job for a year down to Texas and this was the 2nd place we looked at for her and knew this was the place. Colin was our guy that helped us and went above and beyond to show us the place and make her big move a smooth one. Th
Beautiful park! Clean restrooms, and literally rarely see any trash or poop bags all over trails like some outdoor trails.
Two trail options: one trail hugs the river and is more of an intermediate trail for bikers or runners who want more uphill op
I've been wanting to visit this cavern for years and finally had the chance to do it. I was not disappointed.ðð
Parking is free and easy to get in and out of. They have a gift and snack shop in the guest area and the restrooms are very clean. T
