Candlewood Suites Destin-Sandestin Area, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Miramar Beach - 11396 US-98, USA

Not really ADA accessible. I originally had the queen size bed accessible room with roll in shower reserved but when I asked for a rollaway bed for my daughter, I was told they did not have rollaway beds available. I’m an IHG gold elite member and was offered the king size accessible room at no charge. This room has a sofa bed option so I thought things would be fine. But…the bathroom had a tub. When I checked in I asked for a shower bench and was told they would bring one up soon. Never showed up that night so I had to go to front desk next morning and was told they didn’t have one! Young lady at front desk said in her 5 yrs there no one had ever asked for a shower bench….Really?? You have a lending locker with a knife block and pressure cooker but can’t afford $100 shower bench for your disabled guests. If you have any disability stay away from this place!

The service was very nice and the location was convenient. However the stay was not the best. When we arrived, we were alerted that the elevators were not working and someone would be coming to fix them the next day. They were never fixed by the time we left. We wouldn't have minded walking up the stairs to the second floor but the staircase hallway smelled like trash because that's where their trash collection is stored. It was absolutely rancid smelling. Getting to our hotel room, it smelled like bacon when we arrived and when we left. The smell never went away. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and some of the drawers in the kitchen were broken and wouldn't close. There was used containers of various drugs throughout the hallway and the walls are thin so you can hear people on the other side. If you stay in a suite, the AC unit is only in the living room so you have to sleep with the bedroom door open. Aside from the location, I would not consider staying here again.

Y’all I was seriously scared about this hotel after all these reviews. I was scared, but this place was amazing! Janelle in the front desk was accommodating and helped w everything! Very very clean! I just don’t understand how anyone could give this hotel low reviews. Thank you for great service. Editing my 5 star original review! Elevators broke down day 1 and we are leaving 5 days later and elevators still are not working. Having to load all your stuff down 3 flights of stairs is not ok! They said the mechanic said they were waiting for a part to fix it, but if it was really important for them to fix it for their customers…. They would have found the part! I just felt like they weren’t worried about it! Another hotel would have def made getting that part a priority! We also had someone in their 60’s with us that had to climb up and down the stairs every time we left and came back! Not convenient at all.

This was one one the worst stays I've had in a long time! First of all, when we first arrived we had no internet, the phone in the rooms didn't work, and the elevators were down. When we asked for extra towels and clean up we were told they only come around to tidy up every 7 days during a check-in, so if you're there more than 2 days just take your own trash out. The only good thing about it was it was close to the outlet and beach. I would not recommend staying here until they upgrade or get EVERYTHING fixed that needs to be fixed.

Omg! Where do I start I’m on the 3rd floor I swear the highway SMELLS like mold & mildew 🤢 and sneezed every time I go outside the room door. It smell horrible. Our room was nice but the sheets were dirty when we arrived the staff here sucks the tv with no volume in the living area and the elevator does work we had to keep climbing the stairs. The worst stay I ever had to stay in.

Absolute nightmare, unless you're looking for a good place to buy meth and breed dogs. If you book reservations, do yourself a favor and walk down a hallway (since they won't allow you to see/smell the rooms prior to check-in). If dog (we hope) urine soaked carpeting, roaches, random fire alarms going off, human screams, banging on walls, and incompetent staff is your jam then by all means grab your favorite crackhead and head on down. However, if you are a mentally and morally healthy family with even bare minimum standards, run and don't check in first. Once you sign in at the desk they not only refuse to refund when you are given the key to an uninhabitable cell and are forced to go elsewhere; they will lie, cheat and steal to charge you for it anyway. BBB complaints, honest reviews and CC charge disputes take time and effort. 2 months later and I'm still having to upload pics, videos and receipts (for replacement accommodations that night).

Don't waste your money here!!! This is THE worst hotel ever! We had a king suite. My husband is a platinum elite and close to diamond. We had to change rooms. That first suite was atrocious! It was damp and stink, though the whole hallway smells awful. The bedding was dirty. The ac control didn't work. There were termites. It was horrible, I mean gross!!! On top of all that, there is ac in the living room, but the fan to circulate the air to the bedroom doesn't work, so I went bought a fan. The hotel as a whole is musty, but the room we moved to smelled a little better. I still went bought more lysol to spray and a wax warmer to make it smell better. This was our anniversary, and staying g at this hotel was so daunting we had to psych ourselves up just to go back to the room. He used his points to book for the weekend. Had we been paying cash, we definitely would have left and gone to another hotel altogether. We decided to make the best of the hotel situation, but we would NEVER stay here again and would NEVER recommend it to anyone. It doesn't even deserve one star in any area.

Worst experience EVER!!! The elevator was broke, no one called us about elevator before arrival. The hallways were musty. Husband said it was worst coffee he had tried to drink.
