I am disappointed to write this review. we stayed here first back in May 2021. It was amazing and we were excited to stay here again. When we checked in on May 4, 2024 and went to our room, we noticed several things. 1, the bathtub molding was broken all over the floor and the wall. Most likely from age though, we just bought a non slip bath mat. 2, we noticed the hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were all empty. we went down to the front desk where we asked the front desk for refills. we were told when she had time, she would do it...she never did. we had to go to target to buy the stuff. 3, we found stains on the bed sheets. 4, there was food remnants in the sink. 5, our fridge didn't work. 6, later that night, we discovered we only had one towel. we went down and asked for another. they gave us a smaller towel from the gym and said they would put us down for new towels either that day or the next. i had to go down the next day to get another towel as they never did it. then they came on our last day to give us new towels. that all happened within an hour of us checking in. we made the week long stay work but will not be staying here again. I realize now why i book with Hilton and don't like being cheap with hotels. the area was amazing though. there was plenty of stores and restaurants near the hotel. and about 20 minutes from downtown Charleston!

I LOVE THIS CANDLEWOOD!!!! I stay in hotels weekly for work and travell across the state.... this is byfar one of the best I have stayed at. The rooms are always perfect and fixed immediately if not. The housekeeping staff here are so sweet and make sure you are stocked without asking. The front desk staff is the most welcoming faces every time. I'm greeted like family every stay. The management.... the management.... I'm telling yall, they are AMAXING!!!! THEY KEEP ME CALLING THIS MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME. MICHAEL AND LIANNA ARE THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS!!! (Ps... I had worked hotels for almost 20 years..... I have never seen such a good flow and family environment in any I worked at... staying here brings my standards for customer service very high... no one compairs.)

Staff at this hotel is friendly, unfortunately that’s the only positive thing I can say. We stayed on the 4th floor, this hotel advertises as non-smoking, that is not true. Our hallway reeked of fresh cigarette and weed smoke daily. It agitated my throat and sinuses so if you’re sensitive to smoke, find another place. Even though I kept most of my clothes in my suitcase as soon I got to a nice clean home I realized all of our belongings took on the disgusting scent of the hotel which was aggravating. We travel a LOT for work. This was the dirtiest hotel I’ve stayed at. Our kitchen had a film of gunk all over it. I always wipe down the hotel surfaces when I arrive and I used an entire bottle of disinfecting wipes trying to get the grime off. The hotel is tucked away behind a hooters and the back faces a street of dilapidated or vacant homes and trailers. As a woman, I didn’t feel safe leaving at night and always made sure to park near the lobby. If you have the option, stay in a better hotel in a safer part of Charleston. This have been the worst experience I’ve had at this hotel, no clean room on the first night, so I asked could I please have the room cleaned because it was paid by a third party, so I stayed a second night. I will never return because they don’t care about cleaning the rooms properly. Didn’t offer me another room just offer me clean sheets like it’s my job to put it on bed. Please check all mattresses because there dirty. Can’t put clean sheets on a dirty mattress. Shower curtain dirty and tub dirty as well. Will never return!!!

This was the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had! My second time staying and Candlewood Suites and both hotels were horrible. I will not staying again. The room wasn’t cleaned properly. My room was not cleaned the 4 nights I was there and it was very difficult to get clean towels. The room had mold in the ceiling of the bathroom. I sneezed and itched every time I showered. And to top it off , I was in the shower when the fire alarm went off. We had to leave the fourth floor by stairs. I was charged entirely too much for the nasty hotel.

We stayed, but we won't be back. We couldn't lock our door, the ac had a mold garden in the vents, shower curtain was dirty, didn't trust the sheets because the overall cleaning looked sketch. The remote needed batteries, and the kitchen light didn't work. Roach in the silverware drawer. It could be nice if it was maintained.

UGH! We thought we read good reviews but we read the wrong candlewood. DO NOT STAY HERE! Room smells like fish, Walking down the hall it felt the opening of a horror movie due to many flickering lights, trash everywhere. Our door was open and we were very nervous walking in and the floor was Sticky floor. The room is weirdly moist. All soap dispensers were empty. Stains in refrigerator, all surfaces are dirty. The list in endless. And I don't enough time to list it all.

I wish I could leave negative stars. This is the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever seen in my life mold all in the bathroom hasn’t been cleaned properly in years. when I complained, I was shown three other rooms and they were all the same dirty full of mildew. please look at pictures I uploaded and read all the reviews they all have one thing in common very dirty place
