Candlewood Suites Bordentown-Trenton, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Bordentown - 200 Rising Sun Rd, USA

This place is odd... It's a pretty nice, but very ghetto, hotel. The rooms look great, if a bit... not "dirty" but "neglected". Kitchenette is nice, but all the dishes they offer are all dirty in the room. The specific room I stayed in had 2 twin beds. Not ideal as I'm solo, but it's what my boss got so... sure. Beds are like giant marshmallows. Some people like that, and i don't mind, but that size had me worried I'd fall off. Pillows are made of the same stuff, I needed like 8 (thankfully i had 2 beds). Living area is nice, but has a very strange "sanitary" TV with terrible audio and has babies first remote control. Bathrooms are beautiful! But I hope you like showering with a squirt gun, as there is NO water pressure. Well stocked though with decent TP and pumps of shampoo/soap by the sink and in the shower. As far as misc stuff: "Smart" air in the room says it powers off when you aren't there but even being in the room for 5-6 hours the temp isn't where I set it. Internet is just awful. I can tell from speedtests that the speed is controlled on the firewall, but dang, 4Mbps? Can only watch 360p YouTube videos without tons of buffering. I get that Breakfast isn't a guarantee or a requirement for hotels, but I've also never stayed in one that DIDN'T have breakfast. This place does not. I showed up at like 1am. Front desk girl was very nice. No complaints about her at all. Overall: I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again, but if I had to, it wouldn't be all that bad.

No breakfast. Items for sale. Coffee provided, but no fluff (cream, flavored creamers, teas, etc). 3 cooking pots provided but only 1 works on induction top. Room will not cool. Reported and they said it's working. Can't open windows to let in cooler outside air. Website states they have a tennis court. They do not. There is one nearby for private use, not for the hotel. At check-in we were not given a king room that we reserved. And to add to all that, our room floor was absolutely disgusting/unmopped. It turned our white socks black.

Went and stayed there 5 days on a business trip. Room was nice and clean, had a full size fridge and a stove which was really helpful. Tiny but nice gym there which I took advantage of while I was there, has everything ya really need. Was nice that they had on site laundry so I used that once just had to get my own detergent.

Quiet staff is very friendly they make you feel at home the rooms of kitchenettes they're very nice housekeeping is wonderful it's a great place to stay

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Candlewood Suites. Jonathan Velez and Jay were very nice and hospitable.They were very kind and respectful..I definitely will be back next time I am in the area..

UPDATE: 2/18/24 Management at the hotel has done nothing that results in alleviating the loud pick up trucks. Even after giving the vehicle description and License plate numbers. They continue harboring these cars and allowing them to be parked at the hotel instead of just kicking or banning these repeat guests. The entire neighborhood is fed up with this place. The hotel allows construction workers to stay, which wouldn't be a problem if they didn't park their deafeningly loud pickup trucks right outside the rooms. These trucks start up in the early hours of the morning, rudely awakening everyone in the hotel and nearby homes. Despite numerous complaints, the hotel has done nothing to address this issue, making for a sleepless and aggravating stay. Avoid this place if you value peace and quiet.

I have to give 4 stars as housekeeping threw items away without consent. Due to using a free night stay we had to book a 2 night separately. Was told at check-in we wouldn't need to switch rooms. So I assumed housekeeping would know this. But I was wrong as the entered the room the didn't care to double check if it was a checkout or not. They cleaned the room and threw away containers I brought and washed that are used for my dogs food. They also threw away or took a bag I brought drinks with us in. Wasn't by the garbage was just on the floor. Touch and moved all are things.

First, The room had a carpet that smell like a dog. Then the ventilation system was so dirty. I asked for another room and it was remodeled like brand new. Second, the prices of beverages are elevated. Better avoid the hustle and be prepared. I recommend a lot of patience as you may hear the noise of the remodeling going on. Third, the toilet paper roll set up did not make any sense. Was placed underneath the washbasin. Lastly, there are no security measures for late hours 10 pm - 6 am. At the minimum, there should be key control access on the main door. Whoever can just enter and do whatever. However, good lighting at the parking and plenty of parking. Management, be proactive, not reactive.
