Candlewood Suites Belle Vernon, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Belle Vernon - 715 Rostraver Rd, USA

My stay at Candlewood Suites Belle Vernon was fantastic, due in large part to the exceptional service I received from Floyd, the receptionist. Despite arriving without a reservation on a sold-out day, Floyd went above and beyond to ensure a smooth experience. While I waited comfortably in the lobby for about 30 minutes, Floyd himself prepped a room that had become unexpectedly available. Upon check-in, Floyd's attentiveness continued. He not only ensured the room was spotless but also surprised me with fresh towels and toiletries. The room itself was spacious and clean, with the added bonus of a fully equipped kitchenette. Floyd's dedication to exceptional service, from cleaning the room to the thoughtful touches, made such a positive impression that I would gladly return to this hotel based on his hospitality alone.

We recently stayed 2 nights here, in room 219. They had same day availability and check in was simple. Mostly the hotel appears pleasant and clean, and there is a small shop for anything you might have forgotten, although the local Walmart is within walking distance. Unfortunately, we did experience a few negatives that will have us seeking alternative accommodations next time. We booked a single queen studio suite through the hotel website, but the bed was most certainly only full size. We have a queen bed at home and it's somewhat insulting that they think you won't notice the missing 6 inches of width. That's basically the distance between two adult sleepers. If you're both slim it won't be a problem, but an average American? My husband is very slim and I am slightly overweight, and we were back to back. The bed itself was very soft, some may not like it that soft, and both soft and firm pillows were available. But it needs to be the advertised size. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the shower, only a bunch of glue residue on the wall where I assume a dispenser once lived (attached photo). I went down to the front desk in the morning and mentioned it to the clerk, and she said she would have housekeeping come up to the room. They never did. The hand towels in the bathroom were also definitely used, or at least had light stains. The sheets also had what seemed to be shoe marks on one corner? To top it off, while searching for the shampoo, I opened a drawer to discover it had a bunch of (I hope) beard hair trimmings, but I fear it was.. Other hair. (attached photo) It wasn't a horrible stay by any means, 3 star is fair. You can get a decent night sleep, the full kitchen is convenient, and the shower is quick to heat and gets nicely hot, but you may be asking for some visits to the room before you tuck in if you are concerned.

We really enjoyed our stay here. They have Dove products for the shower, which I really like. Some places have weird smelling stuff. They have a "canteen" that is on the honor system and it has everything you could need if you forgot something or want a snack. If we go back to this area we are definitely staying here again!

Positive: The staff was so friendly and the accommodations perfect. Negative: A small thing. There was still spray from a toothpaste brushing on the bathroom spigot. It won't make me not return.

We had two reservations for two separate rooms at the hotel for the night of 6/21. Before my arrival, the hotel manager called to tell me the one room we booked (suite) was not available because a family was extending their stay. He was offerring us 3 rooms. Upon arrival, I discussed the matter with him at the front desk and asked to pay for our second room at the lower rate $98 a night not the nearly $140 a night because it's a standard room not the suite. He refused because he was giving us a third room, he would offer us $20 back. I declined the room and asked if our party can stay in just two standard rooms at the refused $98 rate. He agreed. He gave me the papers to sign for the rooms, one being $0 and one at around $145 after tax. My card was charged for two rooms at $146 (and change) and some change each when my receipt shows a standard room after tax is just under $109. I should have paid about $218 total but instead I paid about $293. Only one of our rooms had towels. The one room had a bath mat and hand towel, no towels. Our room also smelled like cigarettes and they had the window open airing out when we arrived. Below the sink is full of powder to try to deter roaches. This is the poorest Candlewood Suites I have ever stayed in. The hallway is hot where it is clear there was not working A/C. The hotel overall seems dingy. The only perks are the rooms are wide so you do not feel squished in and it is close to several fastfood places, restaurants, the pharmacy, and Walmart. There are 3 other hotels in the same area. I would recommend the Fairfield Inn instead.

Dirty! Checked in to first room to find hair in sink, debris on bathroom counter, and hair on towels. Changed rooms to find dead bugs on kitchen counter, torn bedding and debris on sheets and floors. Sticky on the non carpeted section of floor. Elevator and hallways were dirty with debris as well. Staff was pleasant.

I will NEVER stay in this hotel. It was absolutely disgusting. Went into the room, my shoes was sticking to the floors(I used my coworkers fabuloso to clean it myself)…No shower curtain in the bathroom. Was laying in bed and felt something on my leg that appeared to be something on the comforter., Turns out the be dried blood….yes blood…absolutely disgusting. No body wash in the shower. The table by the bed had coffee spilled on the bottom shelf…no remote…..floors In the entire hotel haven’t been vacuumed in days. Save yourself the stress, go somewhere else.

I was there a few days ago and walked by the lobby while the guy working the front desk in was giving a woman a terrible time as she was trying to check in. He asked her inappropriate questions ("What is your service dog for?"). ||He kept accusing her of having an attitude but from what I saw she was being pretty normal, maybe a little tired. He just kept getting more aggressive but telling her she was the one. He kept making her answer his same questions over until she said it with the exact words he wanted - then I heard him say, "Good. I wanted to get that recorded". I felt sorry for the lady, honestly. ||At the end she asked him, "please don't say my room number out loud" and he proceeded to do it twice. Dude, she was doing that for her safety, way to go buddy.||tl:dr Disappointing front desk staff (guy named Andre) who seems to be on a power trip.
