Candlewood Suites Auburn, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Auburn - 2510 E Glenn Ave, USA

Positive: Location. Negative: Room smelled like old bacon grease. Bought air fresheners to make it tolerable to stay. Also opened window and door to air it out but still smelled. Front desk staff tried their best but were not well equipped to deal with the issue. Also, no hair dryer.

This was a fine hotel to stay in. Previous reviews listed some problems, but we had a clean, well maintained room. Bed was fine.|We had no problems with staff or facilities. ||4 stars (instead of 5) not because anything was wrong —but because: 1. No breakfast and 2. It’s a solid place to stay but do not expect the Ritz.

Traveling for our son’s graduation the past few days in Auburn . Because of graduation in the area I understand prices were high. Every hotel was expensive. I reserved 2 rooms for the 6 of us thinking our rooms would be reasonably close together we wasn’t. One room smelled extremely like smoke and had problems with the tv the other also had a musky odor. I asked if our adult children could change rooms because of the smoke odor and no tv front desk said if they want I can move them next door. It left me wondering why they didn’t give us that room originally so we could be close together. Anyway we chose not to change too much of a hassle they were already unpacked and almost afraid the room next door might be worse. The front desk put an Oxidizer in the room while we were out it helped some but not enough. Nothing could help that smell. I felt like their clothes would end up with that odor. My problem is that none of it seemed like a big deal to the front desk. There was no offer of a different room I made the suggestion and no offer of a discount. Hotel is in a great location and housekeeping were very helpful. I feel like for the price things could’ve went smoother and been more accommodating to get our business in the future.

Great hotel. Convenient location, near highway, Spacious, clean, queen suite. Full kitcken w full fridge, dishwasher, 2 eye stove, cabinets w dishes, above the range microwave, large bathroom tub shower combo, large closet. Freezing cold a/c, no complaints for the super hot days. Plenty of parking. 24-hour panty that you can shop in if you don't want to run to the store. That bold coffee in the pantry is everything!!!!!! On-site gym, to keep up w your routine. Customer Service is A1. Ms. Gwen is a sweetheart. I will definitely utilize this location again when back in the area. Thank you,

Firstly the hotel itself had outdated finishings from the moment I walked in. The check-in process took way longer than needed. They charged an additional deposit on top of an already overpriced upfront cost. This "additional deposit" is taking forever to clear and is still pending in my account. They did not offer early check-in to "non-members", whatever that means. Once checked in the sanitizer dispenser in the elevator did not have any sanitizer. For the high one night charge, I would expect everything to run smoothly. When I got into the room the tub was old and stained. I will not be staying at this hotel ever again and would not suggest it to others.

Candlewood Suites is more like “Candleweed Suites”. As soon as we entered the elevator the stench was evident. The smell continued through the hallway on our 3rd floor room. I made a complaint to the staff, but no change when we returned for the day. My husband also killed two roaches in the room. We would have left, but due to graduation weekend we were kind of stuck and our room was non refundable so we spent as little time there as possible. Also, no breakfast available is a big detractor. We will not stay here again.

This was our 2nd stay at this location. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and greeted us every we walked by. Everything from check-in to check-out was easy and convenient. The room was very large and plenty of room for me, my husband, and our 2 boys. We enjoyed the full kitchen and large desk that was convenient for eating. There are many shops and restaurants near by and a short drive to either Auburn University or Opelika. We will definitely stay again.

This is my number one hotel when I’m in the are. Friendly service and cleanliness makes this hotel my favorite of all. The staff here are all fantastic and will take the time to assist you in every way possible. The amenities are very nice and in excellent working condition. The view from the laundry facility gives you a view of freedom without feeling closed in from the atmosphere. The exercise room is immaculate with different workout equipment. I definitely recommend this hotel to all travelers of different lifestyles. Restaurants and activities within walking and driving distance is a plus.
