Candlewood Suites Asheville Downtown, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Asheville - 49 Tunnel Rd, USA

We stayed here because they have EV chargers for our vehicle. The indoor pool is nice. There is also a hot tub. There are grills for guests to use. It is away from the downtown area, which may be a little quieter. We noticed several homeless people around the back of the hotel near the building next door. Not sure what goes on there. The hotel has a rooftop terrace. I did not go up there, but it looked nice. It is not a very walkable area. We drove to a pizza place for dinner. I would stay here again. No breakfast included.

We had a great stay at the Candlewood Suites in Asheville. What an amazing little town. Hospitality was great - I would recommend training staff better in the area - no one seemed to be from Asheville to give recommendations or advice - but that didn’t affect our trip. The rooftop bar and lounge area was our absolute favourite - and the teens in our party lived the proximity to McDonalds. We didn’t walk anywhere else but lots to do and see in the area.

Room was very comfortable, clean and a quite. The staff and service were outstanding. We enjoy the roof top bar and the short 5 min drive to town. The location is conveniently located near grocery store and restaurants. We will visit again.

My 1 star rating is due to the hotel and its staff acting in contradiction to their written policies. The staff will attempt to charge your card for the full price of your reservation at a random time in the morning several hours before your actual check in. This will not be disclosed to you in advance. I’ve never had this experience with any hotel, as most charge your card at the time of arrival. Their written policy only states that you will be charged for 1 night at 6pm on the day of check in if you book the room and never show up. I reserved my room with a credit card that I intentionally keep a low limit on to prevent unauthorized charges. On the day of check in I received a call around noon (check in wasn’t until 3pm) advising that a member of the hotel attempted to charge my card in full, and as intended it declined. The representative insisted that I provide my credit card information to her over the phone, advised that there was no possibility to update my card information online, and threatened to cancel my room if I did not show up by 3pm. She also advised she couldn’t tell me whether or not the room was ready, or if I even had a room reserved if I wouldn’t provide my card number over the phone. I was forced to cancel my afternoon plans to drive over to the hotel. Upon arrival the woman behind the counter stood by the phone call and was very condescending. She stated that they are independently owned and follow their own policy. However, when asked whether or not the policy in question was listed on their website she was unsure. I’ll spare you the research- the policy is not online. We spoke with the manager next day who explained that they charge in advance to avoid reserving rooms that people don’t show up for. She also agreed that this policy is not outlined anywhere, and claimed she would talk to IHG about it. She asked for my room number in front of other hotel guests, said she would “see what she could do”, and needless to say I never heard anything back. This experience is unfortunate because the room itself was fine. However, I will not book at this hotel again.

This was one of the best hotel experiences we have had. Excellent staff. Alex, Tulsi, and Celeste were especially kind and helpful. We extended our stay by three nights because we didn't want to leave, lol. The roof top deck is AMAZING!!... please keep this open!! It was a bit of heaven and so relaxing. The beds were very comfortable. My husband and I slept 8 hours and woke up so rejuvenated!! Located near downtown Asheville and many wonderful restaurants, like The Cornerstone. We were able to walk next door to Ingle's grocery's to purchase items and make breakfast and several delicious meals with our fully equipped kitchen. What a blessing you all provided a dishwasher, refrigerator and garbage disposal for your Guests too. How considerate of you!! 💕 The rooms were spacious and the bathroom included body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers inside the shower. There was even a spacious closet with an iron and ironing board. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Your hospitality, comfort, amenities and kindness deserves 10 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We will be back soon for a longer stay.... our new home retreat away from home 🏡 Sincere regards, Chris & Geri

This place rocks. The location, staff are wonderful. Especially the front desk clerk that works on the weekends. I forget her name, but she is from India. Hotel is very clean, comfortable, spacious and has a fantastic location near downtown and highways. We Will stay here again when in the area. They have the best view from their rooftop bar.

Honestly a good location in town at a pretty affordable price. Clean and nice rooms, comfy bed and Alex at the front desk was so nice and understanding and even let me check in a bit early because Id been up since 2 am. Good view from the roof of the mountains too. My only complaint is they sell toothpaste and toothbrushes instead of being complimentary so grab em before you’re there in case you forgot. Not a big deal though.

Candlewood Suites exceeded our expectations with their exceptional staff, going the extra mile to ensure a memorable stay. The attention to detail and cleanliness throughout the hotel was impeccable, making us feel right at home. As pet lovers, we appreciated their pet-friendly policy, and the indoor pool was a delightful bonus. But what truly stole the show was the rooftop access, offering ample seating and decent views. Needless to say, we'll definitely be returning for another stay.
