Wife and I have stayed here half a dozen times over the years. It's our favorite location in the Joshua Tree area, and far surpasses any experiences we have had in the Joshua Tree and 29 Palms areas. The proximity to the East entrance of the park makes the location ideal, but it's the incredible dark skies that make this our favorite spot. We love to bring our telescope for some evening star gazing here. Very pet friendly and well maintained. The breakfasts are terrific. We highly recommend.
Such a gem! My best friend and I looked at so many places to stay near Death Valley and finally picked The Campbell House. It's such a beautiful little oasis in the desert! We stayed in the Sunrise Cottage - it had plenty of room, a kitchenette, was really comfy and had everything we needed. When we checked in, the person working was super friendly. The grounds are absolutely beautiful - especially the outdoor eating/sitting area by the fountain. It's close to nearby food and gas. The breakfast was homemade and delicious! We really enjoyed visiting with other guests at breakfast while we sat outside and ate. You can stay in the big house or in one of the separate small cottages. The cottages are spaced out nicely and we felt like it was really private and quiet. Would definitely stay here again!
First time visiting JT, didn't know it was actually low off-season in July due to heat. Our stay at Campbell house was wonderful even though it was low season and well over 100 degrees. We visited JTNP before it got too hot, then chilled in our room and pool. The Cholla room was beautiful, more like home then a hotel room. More than enough room for family of 4 adults. Highly recommended, we would come back again when we visit JT.
Well, we arrived early to an empty house but called Elizabeth who called us back very quickly. When we did check in Elizabeth expressed some agitation and went to check the computer. No hello or welcome. It was very impersonal. Did not seem interested in us and walked us to Farm House Cottage, where Lisa was finishing cleaning. Not a pleasant beginning. Also, there is no one on duty in case of emergencies. The cottage is nice but smells musty. The cottage is set up to sleep 4 but there are only 2 glasses and 2 cups. The lighting and seating in the living area are poor and very uncomfortable. We found ourselves reading and resting on the bed. There is a large artificial plant in the corner along with another on an end table which are sorely in need of dusting. The nature, though, around the area and home is lovely and the convenience to the North Entrance of JTNP is fantastic. The continental breakfast is very good but no juice. Probably nicest place to stay in area!
We stayed in the main building in a spacious suite. Nice, but seems like a refresh is in order. Plumbing was not up to expectations but could be like this for historical aspect. A.frireplace in room was nice. Light breakfast was good. We used the jacuzzi too. Inn is sort of hidden away so a car is necessary in order to get to restaurants in town. Be prepared to check yourself in if arriving late.
Best place to stay. Recommended to my loved ones. We love it here.
Interesting historic property in ideal desert location. Simple but good breakfast served in lovely old dining room. Easy access for Joshua Tree park via the quieter entrance.
The local high desert is my spiritual getaway and The Campbell House in Twentynine Palms is the perfect place for all seasons. Not only are the grounds rich in history, but the staff, cottages, food and peace-of-mind, all worth the price. No finer place to marvel at the stars and a stone’s throw to Joshua Tree.

Wonderful experience! Ribeye was cooked to perfection, and my wife's Caesar salad was delicious as well (I stole some ð). It was our anniversary, so they did a complementary toast and dessert. We will definitely be back, if you're ever in 29 Pa
We had a tour today. Thanks to the Ranger and the Caretakers, it was delightful. The simple life is not what it sounds like, Mr Keys and his family worked hard! It's good to see life in the old west.
Great hike, my wife and i were out there at sun up....as the sun came up the shadows and lite wer neat to see. It was cold when we first got there, but once we got moving we warmed up quite a bit. Joshua tree is an amazing place and we are already p
The place looks brand new. Huge rooms with comfortable bed and very nice bathrooms, great water pressure and hot water. The breakfast was ample and very good. Right across from the gas station and mini mart. Perfect place to stay for a visit to J
