Camellia House Bed and Breakfast - Featured Reviews (50)
My friend and I stayed at the Camelia House for a family reunion and enjoyed our stay. Miss Linda is so sweet and eager to please. The pool is just a few steps away and the surrounding woods are very scenic. She brought breakfast right to the room and set up our coffee pot. It is an old historic home with a lot of ambiance. We loved the homeyness and antiques. It was my first stay but my friend’s fourth. I would stay here again!
This is a favorite place for my wife and I. The rooms overlooking the pool were perfect for our birthday weekend getaway. Mrs Linda is such a great host and very attentive to all of your needs. Even though you are close to the downtown area, when you are in the backyard pool area, you feel miles away from everything. Walking distance to some great restaurants and really cool antique shops/boutique stores.
Linda was awesome, and the house was in the center of everything. We enjoyed the close walking distance of the restaurants and grocery store. We enjoyed our stay.
Mrs Linda was so sweet. She took care of us during our stay. It’s a quaint spot that feels secluded yet walking distance from everything. The rate was very reasonable.
Our host Linda made our stay at Camellia House feel like a visit in a dear friend’s home. She personally greeted us and took great care of every single detail. We had a charming room in the back of the house with our personal area of the porch that overlooks the pool and garden. We spent a lot of time in the cozy furniture on the porch listening to the pool fountains and enjoying the beautiful plants and wooded property. The king bed and linens were so comfortable and breakfast was delicious. Our room and property was clean and everything labeled well for our convenience. Linda took time to visit with us and make us feel welcome. No detail was left out. We highly recommend this darling bed and breakfast within walking distance of historic Covington. We will return.
We booked this bed and breakfast for a three night staycation. The reviews and website were promising. Our room was located in the front of the house and had a private entrance from the front porch. Check in was no contact. The king room was a nice size and had an attached twin sunroom area. It was raining so I sat in the sunroom. The room was infested with gnat like bugs. The room smelled of seafood, which was explained was the Thieves cleaner. The shower had burst pipes this past January, 7 months ago. The repairs were made but instead of tile, duct tape was used on the shower wall then painted over. The shower pan has separated from the surround so the water drains into the floor boards which are rotted. A shag rug is glued over the rotting area. When we stepped out of the shower, we stepped onto soft floor with a rug that is not cleaned between guests. This room should not be booked until the proper repairs are completed and inspected by code enforcement. ||The pool is clean but the deck is rotting. The hot tub was drained. Next to the pool is a storage area for various household broken items. The front porch is lovely but the roaches do come out at night. Breakfast is pastries, quiche, juice, fruit and is very nice. ||Linda is a very nice lady but this place has gotten away from them. Perhaps the back rooms are in better condition. The front room was very noisy and bright at night. I would not recommend this room.
The hostess is wonderful but the place is run down. It could be beautiful again with some work. I love B and B's but will stay in a hotel for my future visits. Rotting floorboards covered with tape and painted over. Carpets not clean. It is so sad because the couple that owns this place have been in business for so long and I am sure the place used to be so wonderful.
My wife and I celebrated our 49th Wedding Anniversary here and enjoyed ever moment. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning and Linda was a wonderful and very knowledgeable hostess. We enjoyed our beautiful room overlooking the pool. It was so cozy and relaxing just rocking on the beautiful porch and chilling with a cold beverage.
