Calypso Inn - Bed & breakfast in Wilton Manors - 2520 NE 6th Ave, USA

We had a very disappointing experience. The location was great but the property needs some serious TLC & a deep cleaning. Our brief interaction with Wes was not particularly pleasant, and he basically dismissed us.||I was hesitant to book after reading a few negative reviews and his condescending replies, in which he deflects and takes no accountability for HIS property! Yet I went along with my husband's request and booked a room because he loved how the landscaping looked in the pictures. While lush, it was a hot mess! I second a reviewer's comment that a leaf blower and take would go a long way. ||It really is in a great location, and if the property was better maintained with nicer basic amenities, it could be a great place. Even if the prices were raised by 20% to offset more upkeep, it would still be a good deal.||For our trip in October, we are staying elsewhere though. I don't know where all the positive reviews are coming from, but they do not truly represent the property. As one other reviewer stated, if you don't mind roughing it, it'll be a suitable place to stay. Otherwise, spend a bit more money, and stay at one of the much better properties nearby.

We came for the weekend with some friends who come here often. It was our first time with them. Great location and friendly, walkable to many places. Wes and Carlos were very accommodating. We will stay again. Thank you.

I had a horrible experience with them. The owner asked me to tell them when I will check in, and I got there on time. The place was locked and I was stuck on the street. The owner told me the worker will be right there to check me in but she never came, and he kept on messaging me and telling me she will be right there. I was waiting for more than 2 hours in the street and he didn't even bother to tell me the truth, apologize or offer a good explanation. And I'm not even talking about compensation! They ruined my vacation in wilton manors and never took responsibility. I'm editing my review after the owner's response: HE IS LYING! I got there at 17:45 exactly, in time for check in, but his worker wasn't there. He just posted this false response to cover himself. Do not trust that man.

The funny thing about this adventure is that we ended up here because the other place we had rented was flooded and the owner got us this new place... The best thing that could have happened to us!!! The place is really beautiful and super close to Wilton Drive. The room was huge and cozy. We had our own entrance and parking in front. The breakfast was always served on time and most importantly, the treatment we received from the guest service employee was amazing. We will definitely go back there again on future occasions!

Amazing place!!! Just stay here, you won't be sorry. Thanks staff! Your amazing, even on a last minute cancellation I got lucky to have the room right off the pool. Soooooo quiet and peaceful! One thing I really enjoyed was the Sirius XM radio that was playing in the back booth. I love the ch66 watercolors smooth jazz channel, they had no problem with me changing the channel to this beautiful music. These little things make it great. Just a truly amazing place to relax. We rented two adjacent rooms with friends. Ryan Jennie Wes and Steve were very friendly and accommodating. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Pool is nice and partly shaded. Great location with easy walk to nightlife. Off street parking. Nice breakfast buffet.

I was very excited to take a couple days off in Wilton Manors. I chose this property because I wanted a relaxing couple of days and the price was right. I loved the location, just 2 blocks from Wilton Drive with lots of bars, restaurants, shopping and adult entertainment. I feel like I had what I needed to relax. I will say this, the bus I arrived on was in better shape than my room. It was fairly clean, but I noticed a strong musty odor and patches in the ceiling here and there. I would likely not stay here again. Sammy, the house keeper was very kind and sweet. I had a disappointing incident with Wes upon my arrival. We were trying to coordinate my arrival time to accommodate a quick check in. Unfortunately I received a text intended for an employee and lets just say it was not flattering. It appeared that due to the fact that I arrived to Fort Lauderdale by Greyhoud bus, that it was necessary to get a copy of my Driver License and a credit card or I was not staying, even though I had already paid the bill days before. I suppose the text I received from Wes was not intended for my eyes, but I really felt like I was somehow profiled in a negative way because of the bus. I was hoping to meet Wes so he would have a chance to acknowledge the faux pas but he never appeared.
