Nice park! Great for trail running! Super nice mountain bike trails for all levels of riders.
Park is beautiful but very odd behavior of people pulling in and sitting in their cars. My car got my window smashed here and purse, wallet, identity stolen here in a matter of 30 min. Will never go to this park again. However, well maintained and nice campsites.
Beautiful park! Great for jogging or go with kids. Also nice spot to fishing (I didn’t get any 🤪) but it’s beautiful. Also I’m glad they have trails for bike. Make sure to have repellent! And it’s a clean park.
Been coming here for years to race, great trail system for mountain biking!!
This review is for the primitive campground at this Park. Great location private spots big enough for more than one tent all with fireplace and BBQ spot. Clean bathroom and enough (cold water) outdoor showers, very friendly staff. Only one big minus is they don't allow you to go with your car or truck to the spot and you have to get everything with the had pulled carts to your spot. Depending how far it's away from parking it takes a few walks/minutes to get everything there. No traffic makes it safe for kids to play everywhere though. Close to mountain bike trails (across Park entrance) I would have given 5stars if vehicles would be allowed at the camp spots.
Wonderful and unique little camp ground. There are shower huts around the entire campground (without hot water) then a bathhouse at the front with 2 warm water showers. There are many short hiking trails surrounding the campground (about 3-4 miles). One goes along the river which is very beautiful. We didn't have luck with the firewood sold, so ended up buying elsewhere but maybe just a wet batch. The squirrels were so much fun to watch. The people there were very helpful and nice. The campground is alive during the day and evening then like absolute magic all the kids were in tents and silent by 10pm for quiet hours. Only $15 a night for regular site ($30 for group).
Went out today on a day off to enjoy the beautiful cooler weather in nature. Havent been to this park in a while and wasn't disappointed. Beautiful trails and gorgeous huge oak trees. Saw several squirrels, heard a cardinal and sat on a bench looking out over the river. What a gorgeous day to get out in nature. We walked about 3 miles. Thank you Lee County for preserving such a beautiful area. 3 trails to choose from and even a nice trail along the river.
First time exploring this place with my family. My two kids enjoyed it a lot. Very peaceful. I love the sound of the river as we walked. We saw frogs, birds, a rabbit, and a wild pig. Very muddy as it rained a few days ago. Not too many mosquitoes as other places. We did our yearly cardio today!!!! :)
