Stopped in to rest on a long hot motorcycle ride and the restaurant and bar staff took wonderful care of us! To our surprise the lodge had live music and very affordable brews. Big shout out to Natalia for her exceptional customer service. The vibe was so relaxing we ended staying until they closed the restaurant. Will definitely return and share experience with our friends!
The staff was super kind to our kids! Danielle was a great server at the restaurant and was very familiar with the challenges of dining with 4 kiddos under 5 years old. The morning staff (I am sorry I didn’t catch your names) gave the kids Mickey Mouse stickers and rice crispy treats. The hotel has a great alpine lodge feel! We saw wild turkeys and enjoyed the big soaking tub in our room!
My family and I were traveling to Portland from the San Francisco Bay Area and needed a place to stop for the night. I am so happy that we found this place because we loved everything about it. Jess greeted us and got us all booked in and was also seating and taking care of everyone in the restaurant. SHE WAS AMAZING at juggling so many hats! It was cool too see all the people coming off the trails and hearing their stories of their travels. I highly recommend this lodge and I hope to be back when there's snow! Thank you Jess for a wonderful experience!
Beautiful place and location! Service was great. Rooms were clean and comfortable, bed was also very comfortable. Great place to enjoy peace and quiet... Breakfast was not good, It was pretty scarce with choices, basically cereal and waffles that were not inviting, we passed! But otherwise a we had a wonderful experience and I would visit again for sure
This was the friendliest hotel staff I've ever had and they were great for a conversation. Kieran or Kiran went above and beyond making up for a simple mistake out of his own pocket and being one of the nicest people ever. The food was above and beyond my expectations, just about gourmet; an amazing grilled cheese with three excellent cheeses, an incredible sauce on the spaghetti (All you can eat!), and the best onion rings and croutons I've ever had! The room was gorgeous and complete with a hot tub for only 110.39 for the room. I would stay here again, definitely, and I made some new friends. Forest and the other bartender gave incredible service and are great people. Thank you, Callahan's Mountain Lodge for a great experience.
Great lodge just off the freeway. We enjoyed a large, clean room with a wood burning fireplace (wood was provided), a large jacuzzi tub and a beautiful deck, complete with rocking chairs. The restaurant and bar are rustic and beautiful. We had a delicious dinner and great service from Marlon, Jessica and Michelle at the front desk. We will definitely return next time we drive up north.
We have spent nights here for the last 15 years off and every several years or so. It was always delightful, good amenities, service, etc. HOWEVER, in 2022 new ownership took over, and we visited for 3 nights in August, 2024. It is terrible in most ways… everything is broken and run down. The service is grossly understaffed and the staff is not knowledgeable and don’t seem to care. They have run out of everything. The hot breakfast has changed to a continental buffet breakfast, and nothing is offered, no fruit, only sugar coated cereal, and ran out of coffee, orange juice, bread, etc. on all 3 mornings. The room has the large shower dispensers, and there were two conditioners and no shampoo. The rooms were dirty and there was no daily housekeeping. The TV didn't work because they claimed their dish was "down". The place has turned into a dump - I will be surprised if they are still in business by the end of the year. We are never coming back.
This place is very special to my husband and I. We stumbled upon it a few years ago when we were heading to our first hike as a couple and realized that our phones needed to charge. We stopped in and the front desk let us borrow a charger; we played cards in the beautiful lobby while we waited. Ever since then, we have gone out of our way to stop in and enjoy the delicious food and superior service. Say what you will about grilled cheese, but I have yet to find one that beats what Callahan's has to offer. Pair it with a Moscow mule and it just might be the perfect day. Fast forward a few years and my husband and I decided to have a small elopement. Once again, Callahan's exceeded our dreams and allowed us to have our ceremony on their lawn with very short notice. They were a huge part in making our day so special and we will forever be grateful to them for the memories made there. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Exceeded my expectations!! I came for an artist retreat and got so much more! Jacqui and Billy were wonderful hostesses. Jacqui accommodated every single need from planning amazing art activities, delicious local restaurants, beautifully appointed
We had a great time! The theme and puzzles were entertaining and just the right amount of challenging. Thanks Eden for being the perfect âbar tenderâ host!
