Went with sisters for my birthday. Loved the chill atmosphere. My vigorous aerobic days are behind me, but my need to unplug and relax are the same. I never felt pressured to do anything. I did some walks and pool yoga, combined with fabulous food. It was wonderful. I had massages, facials, reflexology and it offset the anxiety of aging. Will be back!

Pure perfection from the moment we arrived until regrettably needing to check out . Best spa I have ever been to! Just got home and already miss it! Truly magical in every way

This is an extraordinary place. All the staff is wonderful! They go above and beyond! The spa does not have the typical Cattlecall feel! it’s very personal and specialized to your needs. I highly recommend Calavie!

So honestly, having been here before, this place STILL is absolutely heavenly. The grounds are extraordinary and the rooms are absolutely lovely.. it’s been over 10 years since I have been here and it seems that everything is exactly the same with the exception of the upper pool and a few other additions..||My first impression was a little disappointing because nobody showed me to my room and I walked around aimlessly looking, and I thought that was a little strange. ||There was a definite smell of sewage, thank goodness, not in my room, so I was a lucky one unlike my friends. The food was wonderful. The treatments were to die for… I probably had the best massage of my entire life. I won’t say his name because he’s already in demand. Lol.||I was a bit confused about the meals because last time they were very strict on the portions that they presented based on the calorie intake that you opted. I remember a funny story years ago I asked for a glass of orange juice and they brought me a quarter glass and I thought it was a mistake and they said … no this is what you get based on your 1200 cal per day. That stayed ingrained in me as I don’t think I’ve had a full glass of orange juice since in 10 years lol |Now it seems for breakfast was more of an à la cart…. order what you want off of the menu. I suppose this is good and bad depending on how hungry you are.. |I asked for a glass of pear juice and they brought me a full glass which resulted in me actually feeling guilty drinking because I didn’t know if I was exceeding my calorie intake..? I felt very badly for the kitchen staff. They tried hard, and the servers tried very hard, but they were young and extremely inexperienced. It does seem that the overall consensus talking to the staff is that they are short staffed in almost every department. ||I did find all the workers and technicians warm, kind and helpful. I was in great need of de stressing and detoxing from work and life particularly with everything that has gone on in the past years in the world. I am still (a month later) calmer and more at peace. Its incredible to just unplug with no TV, no electronics … ok yes my I pad lol but just to indulge in the surroundings.. ahhhh ||This feels like the trip of a lifetime however, I just have to mention something that was a little bit disappointing..||I was there for four nights Wednesday to Sunday and on the Friday when you’re still enjoying what seems like the middle of my trip you get a package left in your room, explaining the suggested gratuities and making arrangements for check out and transportation to the airport. I understand this is necessary, it just seemed a little bit soon and took away a little bit of my relaxation mode! Perhaps they could find a better time to drop the bomb that we have to leave soon……||We were fortunate and the weather was lovely, so I even got some pool time in. I can’t rave enough about the property and the effect it had on my psyche. ||Truly heaven on earth, with the exception of small necessary upgrades, sewage issues and the need of better management and additional staff…||I most definitely would return !

I've been to Cal a Vie several times. I was sadly disappointed this visit. The grounds are still lovely, the food is delicious and the fitness classes are great. However, there lacks personalization and care. When meeting the scheduler they asked me how many calories I wanted to eat..... Shouldn't they make recommendations based on the goals I shared in my questionnaire submitted weeks before I arrived? Clearly it was not read. Same for the standardized spa treatments offered to everyone without customization. I was permitted to swap some treatments for others but was told I could only swap 1 for 1 and I had to pay more for incremental cost even though I could have swapped 2 for 1 at the same cost. Further - wouldn't it make sense for them to evaluate my body and skin care needs and then recommend treatments that would meet my needs? In addition, there is a bad sewage smell that came into my room several evenings as well as in the lobby and a few other surprise places. The quantity of food didn't appear to vary for people with different calorie counts. Recipes included white sugar and agave which is surprising at a health spa. They make up the beds and rooms for new visitors before old ones depart, making me wonder how clean everything truly was before I checked in. The truly most disappointing thing, however, was that I got quite sick while I was there in the middle of my week. It was clear that I wasn't well. Nobody at the spa showed any care or concern or offer me any comfort. Given it's a wellness spa I would think that they would be concerned for my wellness. When I shared my concern on my survey and by follow up text I got no response....not even a follow up email to see how I was feeling. I'm sad because I loved this place.

I have always loved this place and have been multiple times in the past. Unfortunately it is changing and not for the better. There is an awful smell coming up from the sewage under the property and it ruins the wellness experience as it pervades the property and some of the rooms. It really stinks. The service in the dining room is also lacking likely due to lack of kitchen management and inexperienced staff. It's a real shame as the hiking, fitness classes, and beauty treatments are wonderful.

I had high expectations for this place and they exceeded them in every way. Every detail is looked after with care. There are a variety of workouts, luxurious spa treatments, delicious, nourishing food, meticulous grounds. I loved it all. I can’t wait to return.

Phenomenal health spa tucked away in the hills. A huge variety of workout classes are offered all day long, literally from a 6am hike to a 6pm relaxing yoga class. The instructors were the best I have seen around - very knowledgable, encouraging, helpful, supportive. The big variety of spa services offered were perfect after a long morning of physical movement. They even have instructional classes like 'how to cut out sugar' or 'how to cook in a healthier way'. The food is my favorite part. When you first arrive, you do a consultation to determine any strong dislikes, allergies and your nutrition goals. Then you don't need to think about it for the rest of the trip. You just show up to the lovely outdoor dining area by a stream, set your name tag on the placemat and they serve you such good food. The staff is thoughtful about eliminating the ingredients you don't care for and about your goals (such as weight loss = smaller portions or sodium free, etc). They have a fabulous boutique with loungewear and workout wear and candles. You can also opt to have the food brought to your room. All the rooms are decorated in the French style of the resort and the beds are super comfy. I plan to go back yearly, at least.

Went here for a friend's wedding, and what a quaint spot! The wedding was small, about 150 people, and we had a mariachi band that was top-notch. Completely set the right ambiance and mood! The waiting area was on the side of when the buildings throu
