Food presentation is everything! The cook this day did fabulous on the presentations and taste! So amazing. To top it off, our waitress was awesome. She was the hostess and waitress and stayed on top of it with all her tables! Overall experience was great! This was our 3rd visit and I think it just gets better and better every time. We also try something new each visit as well. Definitely recommend these three dishes!

As a person born and raised in New Orleans now living in M’boro TN, I know that I must manage my expectations when eating gumbo at restaurants in Tennessee. I can cook a mean pot of gumbo myself but it’s a lot work. I had a taste for a bowl of hot seafood gumbo. Cajun Steamer is the closest thing to decent Cajun cuisine. But they fail miserably with their gumbo recipe. Gumbo-making 101, use fresh seafood or fresh-to-frozen seafood. First, I received a bowl of gumbo with absolutely no seafood in it. Our lovely waitress was kind enough to take it back to get a better scoop. The few pieces of seafood in my bowl were clearly very old and over-cooked. The gumbo had no flavor whatsoever - just the flavor of dark roux. I cannot recommend ordering the gumbo at Cajun Steamer, especially if you have ever had a decent bowl of gumbo. But everything else on their menu is chef’s kiss good!

After a hectic day of Christmas shopping, this place was just what we needed to unwind. Our bartender was awesome (sorry, can't remember her name...was from Manchester) the food was on point. Great atmosphere. Overall a great experience. Thank you.

Living in Murfreesboro for a while now and didn’t know this restaurant existed! Never heard of grand openings, hard to see from the street in a competitive location w other restaurants. It was good! I had the shrimp and grits and it was the best I’ve had in a while. Many restaurants try too hard, make their own version and isn’t better than just a classic. See picture. Wife got the chicken. It was good, too. S&G was better IMO.

We went to Cajun Steamer for my daughter's birthday. Food was excellent and plentiful. "Market price" is not a fun term on the menu, but that's seafood. It's quite expensive but again, typical of seafood. Friendly staff, our waiter was knowledgeable and polite. The manager made his rounds, greeting and visiting tables.

Cajun Steamer was a cute experience. The location is near a popular location in Murfreesboro. The atmosphere inside is live and positive. Waitresses were very young and lacked customer service skills. We ordered gator bites and they were decent. Kind tough and they only gave us a handful to eat and share. I got the catfish dinner and it was good but my veggies were over cooked and burnt a bit. Decided to order some beignets and gumber to go . Our waitress brought it out with the gumbo upside down in the bag lol. Got home to see flat beignets and salty gumber with just crayfish in it, when I could have swore the Yaya had all three 🙃 ? Overall it was decent 👌🏾 👍🏾

Worst Cajun/seafood experience ever. My son & I ordered apps & the steamed platter for two. He wanted crab legs & crawfish. I usually go for oysters & mussels. The seafood tasted overly "fishy," not fresh. The oysters & mussels were so dry and rubbery, they could not be eaten. There were no crawfish on our platter. We sent the meal back & were refunded a mere 50% on the platter alone. My son now has food poisoning. Horrible food and management.

I enjoyed the meal here. I had the Blackened chicken with adouille sausage. We had the corner booth, which was nice. Our waitress was informative and offered lots of options for us to enjoy. That was one of hers, and it was enjoyable. It was a great option for our first night here. Thank you for your service.
