Finding a good Cajun place can be hard, but this one seemed to stand out from all the rest… mostly. My first visit to Cajun Roux was with a friend that frequents often. I was sold on the idea immediately! Upon arrive we were sat promptly and the service was attentive and kind. We ordered… a lot! It would take too long to describe them all. But every dish we had was better than the one before… except the shrimp and grits. I’ve never been so let down. Ever! The grits were just swimming and a sauce that was sour and bitter, the shrimp over cooked and the bacon was more ham than anything. It tasted spoiled. Upon telling our hostess, she said she should have warned us it is not traditional nor a crowd favorite and most people don’t care for it.. well of course we wanted to send it back due to it being inedible. This request was met with “There is a no return policy on our food. Sorry” She was kind with the delivery however after having a bill for $200 for 2 people, one would think under the circumstances of it tasting foul a business might have another policy or make an exception. This could and SHOULD have been a 5 star review and I’m so saddened it isn’t. Everything else was stellar but one bad dish and bad policies can ruin everything STAY AWAY FROM THE SHRIMP AND GRITS and be sure on what you want, because you are stuck with it and with their high prices, it’s a risky gamble.

This was my first time here and it was good. I absolutely love how my server was so attentive. She also kept a check on my table to ensure that things were good. No that is good customer service. Thanks again.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food at this establishment. Everything was seasoned well and the portions were sufficient. My server was pleasant. She brought my food to the table in a timely manner.

Ate here for the first time. Ordered a house margarita ($4 Happy Hour). For an appetizer ordered Boudin Balls. They were served with a Cajun mustard sauce that was good and just a tad spicy. For entrees we ordered the seafood risotto and the blackened Mahi Mahi with an old bay sauce (rich). For the sides I ordered bacon Brussel sprouts and fried green tomatoes (fried to perfection and seasoned well. For desert we ordered the bread pudding served with a bourbon sauce. This desert was amazing! ). I enjoyed eating here. We will definitely return and try different dishes Update: December 23 We're back! This time we tried boudin balls again for ab appetizer! They are that good! I had spicy Mango margarita with jalopeno peppers that was delightful! We also had the Shrimp risotto again (the scallips are amazing in this dish). I had halibut which was the Catch of the Day. I chose asparagus and fried green tomatoes for my sides.The old Bay cream sauce is very rich. I had the caper sauce on the side too and it has a "nutty" and oily flavor but it's great on the halibut. Of course the bread pudding went home with us!

Seated quickly and server was very friendly. Food was very hot! We enjoyed it. Very fresh food. Four stars because they have a sign that says if you can’t do a 20% tip you should go elsewhere. If you are a party of 5 or more they automatically add the tip. They also have a sign that you are limited to 1 1/2 hours due to limited seating. We arrived a little after opening and just two of us was there for 45 minutes, I would imagine a larger party could push the time limit.

We have been coming to Cajun Roux since they opened in 2020 and it quickly became our favorite restaurant! We have ordered almost every dish on their menu and we've never had anything we didn't like. The drinks are also great and the portion sizes as well. It is a great spot to grab a quick bite to eat or a dinner out. They've had a lot of the same employees since the day they opened and some shortly after, which says a lot about their management. Everyone is so friendly and always make us feel like family when we visit!

I met a group of friends here for dinner and drinks. Note, if there are more than 5 people in your group a 20% gratuity is automatically added to your bill. I noticed no animals were allowed on the patio regardless on how well behaved they are. Very sad! There was about 8 draft taps available. I would have liked a bigger selection but you take what you can get. The menu is larger with a good selection of appetizers and entrees. I ordered the Shrimp and Chicken Jambalaya. It was good and had a kick to it. Next time I will try either the Gumbo or possibly the Redfish Rockefeller. Others ordered Chicken Noir or Shrimp enchiladas with lobster bisque. The person who ordered it said the bisque was excellent and had good size chunks of lobster in it. I don’t believe you will be disappointed with anything you order here. I will definitely be back to try other items off their menu.

Came during the SEC Tournament. Got “Crawfish Etouffe” & cup of “Gumbo” for my meal. Etouffe was soupy, with surprisingly scarce tiny crawfish sprinkled in it, along with not much rice. Flavor ok but not remarkable. Gumbo flavor was salty, only chicken and sausage; lots of pepper. No french bread served with this disappointingly insubstantial fare. When I requested French bread, it seemed like a canned response, “sorry, we don’t serve that, but we have something like Texas toast” Server was faux shocked when I grinned and said no thanks. But surprising for a supposedly Louisiana based menu to not offer French bread with etouffee or gumbo. Blank look back by server.
