I just wanted to start off with saying “WOW”! Everything from walking in the front door, to our server Michelle, to the food and the drinks were nothing but amazing. The dome experience was incredible for our early Valentine’s Day dinner. Michelle gave some of the best service I have ever received and definitely takes good pictures too! Will definitely be back!
Came here for lunch on a nice, sunny and snowy day! Beautiful restaurant inside and they have globes you can eat in that are heated outside! We chose to do that, there is an added gratuity for that but is understandable! Servers come out here to outside and it also costs to heat! The menu is LOADED with options, our waitress was extremely attentive her name is Cailin and the hostess was also welcoming! The cheese curds are fantastic and food was incredible. The only item that wasn’t a hit in our entire party was the red hot chicken sandwich. Maybe it’s just our preference but noteworthy. Highly recommend and would come back!
Made a reservation for noon on a Saturday, and I'm glad I did. This spot fills up fast! Still, our service was fast, and our spot in a corner booth had a great view of this bright, cozy restaurant with a neighborhood favorite feel. Menu options suggest a favored beer pairing, although I opted for a Boozy Coffee, which was absolutely amazing! I also wanted something lighter to eat, so I chose the Bacon Leek Quiche, which I thought was a tad dry on top, but still very delicious. The side salad that rounded it out was very fresh and rounded out the meal nicely. This is a great spot for any outing and any size group. It's worth going back again to enjoy the fun ambiance and great vibe.
Perfect weather for this Saturday outdoor meal. Great atmosphere both outside and in. Service was prompt, efficient and especially helpful given it was my first time there. The sandwich was amazing and the crispy side of bacon was perfectly cooked. The fries looked good but were cold. A big glass of grapefruit juice and a cup of coffee with this meal set me up for a great round of golf.
A very nice atmosphere, food delicious I have had a smoky burger it is very tasty i wanted to have the second one. The fries are okay but sweet potatoes (fries) taste better. Time wise they took some time but it was busy I understand. The water time was about 5 minutes to be seated
Love Cafe Hollander. Always good. Consistently good food, service and atmosphere. The outdoor dining areas are spacious and have great views. Had the cheese burger and shrimp salad. Both excellent entrees. Turns out my favorite beer is the Stiegel. A combination of pilsner and lemonade.
While this review is for the Cafe Hollander in Wauwatosa the same general things can be said for all the Lowlands Group restaurants; the food is always well prepared and delicious and the beer selection is unique and varied. That being said, the Hollander in Tosa has a better atmosphere than most of their locations simply because of its location in downtown and on the river. The restaurant proper is cozy and warm, and in the warmer months there is a large outdoor seating area that is perfect for drinking a Belgian beer and eating a cone of frites and a sandwich. The beer selection, while always unique, does vary by location and because they feature imported beers from smaller breweries in the Benelux region availability of beers can change—be prepared to try something new if your favorite isn’t available on a given day. As mentioned, these are imported Belgian beers that you literally can’t get anywhere else in Wisconsin and always served in the proper vessel for maximum enjoyment. These are both strong in actual flavor (and far different than your average over hopped American IPA) and frequently higher in alcohol content. The food is uniformly good, with a nice variety of traditional American and European-inspired food. We typically go for late brunch on the weekend and have found several unique variations on waffles and eggs Benedict as well as several items I haven’t seen anywhere else in the Milwaukee area (the salmon smorrebrod is fantastic). And if you’re simply craving a unique beer and bar snacks they have great options.
Cozy spot to eat dinner on a cold winter night. They have bubbles outside for group dinners, but I was at a higj top in the bar area and enjoyed the atmosphere. The meatloaf was out of this world, I would highly recommend this restaurant
