$12 for a large portion of raw hash "browns". Delicious cheese, perfectly cooked onions, a slight hint of mushroom, blackened bacon, very good wheat toast. Easily emptied my coffee twice. I had to go to the counter to pay my bill. Other visits my bill is brought to the table and I am unable to empty my cup.
Don’t come here if you don’t have well over an hour to sit for a grilled cheese, because they have the slowest service of any restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. Tried twice a year apart, terrible both times. Never again.
Was looking for a great spot off the highway to meet my mom for lunch and stumbled across Marieke Gouda / Cafe Duchess. Had an excellent experience with an excellent lunch! Bought some stuff from the shop before leaving as well. Can’t wait to go back again!
The waitress forgot about one of our burgers. The service rating would be 1 star because of this but the waitress apologized profusely and was very adamant in making sure we were happy there after. Overall, I would recommend this place as I have been here several times and feel this occurrence of poor service was out of the norm.
Restaurant located in cheese factory on a dairy farm. Ready access off of WI 29 in Thorp. Not a fast food place as far as speed of service. Had retail store with cheese etc for sale. Waitress was good. Kitchen slow.
Tremendous value and quality. Love stopping here for breakfast while traveling on 29. Thank you all for making such amazing hash browns.
Staff is super nice. We have stopped here many times and always enjoyed it. Sometimes we enjoy a full lunch, burger, grilled cheese or Mac and cheese (my son loves it here), fries are nice and crunchy. The cheese curds are pretty darn delicious too. Not greasy and the breading has a nice crunch. Hard for us to stop and pick up some cheese without grabbing a bite to eat. This last time it was just a quick snack with cheese curds and fries and it was served quick and we were on our way! And during the summer there is a nice patio area to sit, plus a jump area for kids and a must is visiting the cows and baby calves!
The food was good and came fast, despite the business of the day after Christmas rush. Only complaint was that there were no high chairs at all for our 11 month old and we had to try to have him eat on our laps while we were also trying to eat. What kind of restaurant doesn’t have high chairs?!?! She suggested a booster seat, but anyone who’s had a baby knows that’s 10000% the wrong tool for the job.
First visit here & will definitely be back! Our server, Alyssa was exceptional and very attentive. Salad bar was fresh, fully stocked and included a nice variety. Two homemade soups were an added bonus. We had smoked prime rib and the ribs & chi
