Café Arthur's in Winston-Salem: A Review Nestled in the heart of Winston-Salem, Café Arthur's has long stood as a beacon of culinary delight, especially for those who relish a hearty, delicious breakfast. Recently, this iconic establishment welcomed a new era under the management team from Cagney's, another local favorite. Their influence is subtle yet significant, enhancing the experience while retaining the essence that makes Café Arthur's a cherished staple. Upon entering, one is immediately enveloped in the warm, inviting ambiance that has welcomed generations of diners. The décor, a tasteful blend of traditional and contemporary, echoes the seamless fusion of old and new that defines this café. The walls, adorned with photographs and memorabilia, narrate the rich history of the place, reminding diners of its enduring presence in the Winston-Salem community. The menu, though familiar, boasts of subtle innovations introduced by the new management. Classic breakfast dishes are prepared with a level of care and expertise that only comes from years of culinary experience. From fluffy pancakes to savory omelets, each dish is a testament to the quality ingredients and skillful preparation. Notably, the café has managed to maintain the affordability of its offerings, making it a rare find in an era of escalating dining costs. This aspect alone makes Café Arthur's a standout, offering exceptional value in Winston-Salem's dining scene. Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of Café Arthur's is the sense of community it fosters. It’s not uncommon to see a diverse mix of patrons, from young professionals to long-standing regulars, all converging in this cozy space. The staff, always friendly and attentive, adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making everyone feel like a part of the Café Arthur's family. The new management, with their roots in Cagney's, has brought a fresh perspective while respecting the café's legacy. They've managed to strike a perfect balance between innovation and tradition, a feat that is often challenging in the culinary world. This careful stewardship is evident not just in the food or prices, but in the overall experience of dining at Café Arthur's. In conclusion, Café Arthur's under its new management is a harmonious blend of the past and present. It offers a culinary experience that is both comforting and exciting, at prices that are incredibly reasonable. Its enduring appeal lies not just in its food, but in its ability to remain a vibrant, welcoming space for all. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a long-time regular, Café Arthur's in Winston-Salem is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.
Told myself I would try more local places in 2024. Decided to invite my family for breakfast and I choose this place since the reviews were decent. Wasn’t even in the for door for more than 30 seconds before a waitress was extremely rude about having to find a table for six people. No smile no welcoming jester. Just completely rude. Might be time to goover how to greet a customer because I don’t see how anyone would feel comfortable going somewhere that a waitress would make you feel unwelcomed.
I really hate that we hadn't been to this little gem before! Food was fantastic, best onion rings I've had in years. They went nicely with my Philly Wrap and hubby's double burger. Sweet tea was on point too. Very rarely do I say "I'll be coming back" especially when I haven't finished my meal. But I'll be going back!
I was very disappointed today after purchasing chicken and rice soup. We were told the soup was the same recipe as it was with Arthur’s before being purchased by cagneys. We inquired as to if the soup was gluten free and was told yes in person and via phone. I have celiac disease and after eating some of the soup, thankfully someone at the restaurant called me to tell me it was thickened with flour - not the same recipe. If you are in the restaurant business please confirm all allergy questions with the chef/cook before responding to your customers. Having celiac and just eating a very small amount of gluten is detrimental to my health. This will be the last time I visit this restaurant.
Great local hang out! Great place to get a reasonable breakfast! Breakfast staples are always consistent here. Breakfast meats, oatmeal, grits, hashbrowns are all reliable visit to visit. They do a good job of listening to customized orders as well.
