Cabrillo Inn at the Beach - Motel in Santa Barbara - 931 E Cabrillo Blvd, USA

OK, certainly not a fancy place, it's not for everyone, but I absolutely loved my two night stay! Room was fairly small, truly vintage '80s decor, but super clean. Comfortable big bed, excellent TV, and an ocean view outside my sliding door! Cute little patio with table and chairs. Many little spots around property to sit and chill and watch the ocean. The pool was very clean and heated perfectly. Room was a bit dark, wish it had more windows and air, but still pleasant. Bathroom was tiny with small shower, but super hot water and great pressure. The location could not be better!You're literally right across the street from the beach, between the Santa Barbara Inn and Mar Monte Hotel. For the location alone this place is a value. Free parking, but spaces are limited. Since it's right on the beach and there are many restaurants and things to do within walking distance, I didn't move my car after arriving until I left! Definitely suggest upgrading to an ocean view or partial ocean view room. The interior rooms face the pool. The atmosphere and vibe here were awesome and so relaxing, really enjoyed my stay!

Cons--|No a/c, no breakfast, expensive, dingy. |Gave only one room key.|Staff not available overnight.|Combination of first floor room/no overnight staff inclined us to close windows overnight for security, and the room was hot and stuffy without a/c.||Pros--|The parking was a bit tight, but we did use the parking and had no issue.|It is right across from the beach...||This was the fifth hotel of our trip and the only one with which we were not satisfied. Santa Barbara is an expensive town, and a friend recommended that an alternative would be to stay in neighboring Carpinteria. Might try that next time.

This is a very nice place for a couple. It might be a bit tight with a couple of kids. The place is old and showing some age, but is spotlessly clean. The grounds are well kept.Reasonably priced, particularly in the middle of the large resorts. Walkable to downtown Santa Barbara, the zoo is right around the corner.

The parking is awful, I think there are 12 parking spots total. The rooms are clean, but definitely outdated. It was very difficult to find an outlet, I wish I had brought an extension cord. We didn't use the pool but it did look clean and there were a lot of pool floats and toys available for use. The beach is directly across the street which is the best part of this hotel.

We paid $260 for one miserable night. I was shocked to find there was no a/c as it had been close to 100 degrees that day. I was relieved that the temp cooled down a lot at night. The air did, the room did not. There was one 2 sq ft louvered window. But since we faced a wall, no air got in. There was a loud, noisy fan. It was like sleeping at a wind tunnel. Except we didn't sleep at all. There was no bathroom light, just a heat lamp on a timer. The bathroom was about 3x4 feet. Some of the rooms may be nicer, but don't book room 222.

The rooms are old but it's right across the street from the beach down the street from the pier and restaurants. Our room looked straight out at the swimming pool and the ocean. I would recommend it. We enjoyed our stay. I would do

Was willing to look past the choppy construction going on but after a night of NO SLEEP due to a party right above us and multiple calls to front desk NOTHING was done!! |Carpet is NASTY! Bathrooms are DISGUSTING! |“Supposedly” management was going to contact us but there has been No communication from them.

Clean rooms, wonderful staff, location is amazing- right on the beach!! Pool on the premises! Highly recommend!!
