It’s a fun place to spend a day walking around, fishing, or at the beach. Great for families. In my experience during my visit in early April, the beach was clean and the water was crystal clear. Parking is paid using a debit/credit card at the entrance. Make sure you pay for enough parking or risk getting a ticket.
Lovely little beach area....walked around to the point...houses on hill aide trying to fight erosion...
This place is great for fishing. It can get busy and a little crowded but it's always fun. It has a pretty long pier and parking is not to expensive. We usually catch fish every time we go out. Mostly mackerel bit a few other species too. If it's not mackerel then more than likely you're going to have to throw back whatever you catch. They're not the healthiest to eat but there is some good fish out there too that you can definitely take home and cook for dinner. And if you go on a Sunday evening you can watch the cruise ship leave.
Before you head out here one important thing to know is NO you can't walk out to the Lighthouse on the breakwater. It is closed to the public. 😭 There is a nice covered area on the Pier for events and expect people to be fishing. Parking usually isn't a problem but make sure you pay ...they do check.
We drove for a few hours to get to Cabrillo Beach, but it was worth it. The beach was clean and the kid's playground was in really good condition. The restrooms were clean and it has soap to wash your hands. We walk on the beach and collected a few beautiful rocks that have fossil on shields. It has some benches to sit on with an amazing view.

Needs one helluva cleaning! The pier is old in history and needs to be power washed down big time. Many years back it was a pleasant beach walk but thru the years it has become a pretty nasty place. The rocks are full of trash in between, the port a potties need to be kept up and the people on the pier many times than none can get rowdy. Needs to be looked after more.. it’s sad
I live right up the street from here and it has geart vibes and if you want to fish oh boy oh boy when I tell you I love this pier and the beach it's my home nothing but positivity and good vibes here

The service here was absolutely incredible and the food was even better. We loved eating here! The burrata appetizer was my favorite and the salmon piccata was phenomenal. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
Animal style burger is the best. The sauce and onions put it over the top especially at that price point. Fries would be better animal style instead of plain.
There are so many pizza places around. But Sorrento's stand out as one with no frills, clean, courteous staff and most of all good ol' pizza taste. I never care for marinara sauce. But the marinara that comes with the calamari tastes the best of eq
