I ordered the elk burger and it was a disappointment. It's clearly overcooked and looks nothing like other elk burgers. I'm actually not sure this patty wasn't just ground beef because it didn't really taste like elk either. The place wasn't busy, I wasn't in a hurry, and I even tipped. I wish they would've taken the time to get the burger right. I also ordered the buffalo burger and that was actually cooked worse. I was asked if I wanted cheese and said yes. The burger was actually so overcooked the patty turned black and was stuck to the bun. The people inside were nice, the only thing I noticed was when you go to pay they aren't very helpful and just stand there like a statue. I put three stars because I'm willing to give the place another chance. I'll try a regular burger next time and see how it goes.
For a small town drive-in type burger joint, I was expecting more. Regular hamburger was definitely sub par. Onion rings were excellent and French fries were good enough. I like to avoid the recognized name joints when traveling, I’d rather stop at busy, local places. This was still a nice experience. I just wouldn’t repeat. .
Great food, but not cheap - they even charge for fry sauce and drink refills. I understand that their cost of doing business is high these days. Just don't go in thinking that a small-town drive-in will be inexpensive. Loved the split & grilled hot dogs, and the onion rings were perfect.
I rated this two stars because the place was clean, staff was friendly, food is cooked to order. So hot. But the big French fries weren’t cooked through and we’re so dry I needed to constantly take drinks. The burger Pattie’s were so thin that the bun was to big. Not in the sense the hamburger was to small for the bun, the ratio was just off. I got each of my kids a corn dog, small drink and small fry, you HAVE to order everything separately. It was $20 for all that. Which is insane. It wasn’t memorable in the slightest. I only came here as a halfway point between Washington and ontario Oregon so I could drop my daughter off to visit grandma for a week. I wanted really bad to like it but I couldn’t. Aside from fries not being cooked thoroughly, all of them were except the thick boy fries, the burgers just had no special taste to them. They were to thin of Pattie’s and the fry sauce didn’t even taste like fry sauce, there was a tartness to it, which was fine. I didn’t no you had to order Mayo or mustard on the burgers if you wanted that. And you do have to pay for the fry sauce. But don’t let my experience persuade you not to try it. The staff was super friendly and they were busy but we got our 5 meals fast. The only other negative was the bathrooms. Super dirty. Like truck stop dirty. And the lighting was so bad in the place my daughter didn’t want to pee she was to scared. One bathroom. No stall. Just a bathroom. This is my honest opinion. Nothing to fancy, nothing stood out. Nothing to say “wow they did a good thing here!” You could also order pizza if you’d like 🤷🏼♀️
Customer service was less than desirable by the two employees we interacted with. Waited over 30 minutes for two “jumbo”breakfast burritos. Nearly $7 each. I definitely wouldn’t say the burritos were jumbo by any means. Orders placed after us were called before ours and it was for the exact same food. Meanwhile other staff members were standing around. We also ended up getting sausage burritos instead of bacon like we had ordered. I know Boardman is a small town, but you could drive to the next town over and have your food quicker. Wouldn’t stop here if you have anywhere to be the rest of the day.
Interesting burger shack! Totally local and caters to them. It's hard to know what you're ordering because the menu isn't clear if you're not familiar with it. The locals order super quick, me I stammered until I just said go. I ordered a "super" mushroom burger. I figured "super" meant double burger or maybe "deluxe" with tomato, lettuce, etc. like other shacks. No idea what it meant. It meant SUPER. The bun was huge, the burger was huge, the flavor was HUGE. I ate half of it and am super happy I stopped in.
Great place with really good food 10/5 would recommend. I got a Buffalo Burger and a chocolate shake. Both were very delicious.
It's been a few years since my last review. C&D has not changed too much. The food is a little high on my price window, but it is a good classic American style drive through burger joint. I hope if you have time and want a tasty of 1980 American style burger, give them a try. Happy travels, my fellow Google travelers.
Excellent pool! My kiddos age 4y, and 2y loved it. Very clean, brand new facility, we came to escape the heat and just swim for a day. It was a blast, we loved the gradual pool, it's plenty shallow at one end for littles and gradually gets deeper fo
