By the Side of the Road Inn & Cottages - Inn in Harrisonburg - 491 Garbers Church Rd, USA

I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay in the Magnolia Cottage. We knew before leaving home that the weather was bringing a winter storm, and called to request a different cottage than the one I booked, so that we would have a fireplace on the same level as the main living space. Jesse was quick to respond, and able and happy to accommodate my request. All the touches were perfect - champagne in our fridge, a welcome note, an incredibly comfortable bed and a two-sided fireplace. The cottage was romantic and comfortable, nicely decorated and spotless. We were able to comfortably hunker down for the majority of the weekend - which was actually what we both desperately needed. We appreciated the mini kitchen and wet bar - and took advantage of them more than we may have if the weather had been good. The hosts were friendly, responsive and helpful. Honestly, if you are thinking about a weekend getaway at this Inn, just DO it. We know for certain we will go back. Thank you!!

This little apartment is the loveliest, coziest, most romantic place we've every stayed. We were coming from a not-so-great-and-disappointing AirBNB, and boy was this a relief. There's a fireplace that warms the bedroom and also the bathroom, a great big luxurious tub, all the amenities - it's a big thumbs up from us. We loved it.

I think this was by far the best place we stayed in USA! It is very clean ( I have a 2 year old who touches everything and he has breathing issues and very sensitive toward any viruses or bacteria) so we are very sensitive towards cleanness. The common area is beautiful and what we loved most is the units are not squeezed together. We have the suit and it was big, spacious and plenty room for a toddler. Everything chosen with taste and love… there is an orange cat belong to neighbors I guess who will|Welcome you as well 😂😊

We were lucky to find By the Side of the Road for our one-night stay in Harrisonburg. Jesse, one of the proprietors, took our reservations call. We told him we needed an EV charger. He said that one would be available and offered an accommodations upgrade, on a slow weekday night, to the modern Magnolia Cottage, with an EV charger at our doorstep. We could not have been more comfortable there. The cottage was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The gas fireplace was a treat on a chilly evening, the bathroom is extraordinary (not an adjective I would often apply to a bathroom), and the hosts had thought of everything a traveler would need. Other options for us, with EV charging, were not nearly as well rated or else were substantially more expensive. We would not hesitate to stay again.

It's one of the loveliest places we've ever stayed. There's a see-through fireplace warming both the bedroom and the bathroom, robes, coffee, beautiful, all the amenities. Close to Washington DC and National Forest. It was really perfect.

My wife and I just got back from here. We were celebrating 2 years of marriage. The owners are very friendly. Beautiful location and the Christmas lights on the main house were beautiful. We loved the tub with fireplace and comfortable bed. We will definitely be back!

We stayed in the Water Lily Studio. We requested early check in and were lucky enough to be able to check in at 1:00 after a long drive. When we opened the door, soft music was playing and the fireplace was going. It was so very welcoming! The studio was immaculate, and every small detail was well thought out. If you need a getaway, this is the place! Our only complaint was that the mattress was very soft, and we prefer a very firm bed. However, all the good things outweighed that issue.

We really enjoyed staying at Anna and Jesse’s inn. The studio suite was so beautifully designed. The beds are very comfortable. The rain shower was lovely. It is so quiet and clean. For great Italian food enjoy Vito’s.
