Lovely little cafe with a variety of freshly made pastry. The inside is nicely decorated- I enjoyed a bench seat upon a croissant-shaped cushion- and the staff are very kind and helpful. I stopped in with a friend and enjoyed a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a croissant with a pot of tea- delicious! While not large, there are a few tables for 2-4 people and one larger community table. Plenty of street parking right outside the door, and a clean single stall bathroom. Highly recommended for breakfast or brunch with a friend!
We have been a huge fan of Buttery Baking House for a while now. The service is amazing and ALL of the bake goods are absolutely delicious. You don’t find to many places like this anymore. Ms. Claudia and her staff are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet. This bakery is a true gem. I highly recommend visiting.
very good baked goods and breakfast sandwiches. The breakfast sandwiches were made fresh and served quickly. The croissant was flaky and well made. Iced coffee was delicious. place was nicely decorated with no offensive flags like most places in richmond, even had nice christmas decorations.
WOW this is the place I've been looking for in Petersburg, it is old school fancy BUT friendly! Actual China, buttery pastries, smooth delicious coffee, savory and sweet. A brilliantly cute location anyone can enjoy. If you go for a late breakfast you can sit outside and enjoy the small intimate alley with tables and chairs. It's the perfect time of year! Indoors is a little small but definitely a lovely place for a quick bite. They have shorter hours since this is a brunch location but perfectly reasonable. I'm only visiting for a short time with my job. But I'll definitely miss this place when I head home!

We have visited this place once before for takeout only. Today was our visit to dine in. It did not disappoint. My wife says her chi tea was the best she's had. The spices were perfect. We shared a ham and cheese croissant, raspberry Danish with sweet cream and chocolate chip cookie. Wow! So good. You could tell they put much love and time into everything they make. We are looking forward to returning again soon.
Best chocolate croissant West of Paris (and I lived three year in the French capital). Definitely worthwhile to exit the highway for a quick stop. Petersburg has some more gems to discover, but this is definitely one.
Wow!! This place is so beautiful and warm inside. The customer service was excellent and the goodies were even better!! Doesn’t even feel like you’re in Petersburg to be honest. Everything was so well presented and the taste certainly matched. So happy I stopped by on a whim. I also loved seeing Latina women absolutely killing it in this establishment. Thank you Buttery Baking House, not only for the service, delightful food, but a wonderful experience.
