My husband and I visited Burs restraint this beautiful Saturday for brunch. We both ordered the Steak and Eggs, mine with French toast, his with hash browns. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. This is a relaxed comfy space with a hometown feel. Our total was less than $60 to include a Bloody Mary and two cups of coffee. I love this restaurant and will come back again for sure.
We hadn't been to Burs in a long-time. We wish it had been a better visit. First off, the restaurant was extremely cold. All of the patrons had their coats and beanie caps on- it was cold. After being seated, it took over 10 minutes to get a menu, coffee, and water. Once we ordered, it took some time to get our food, when they weren't overly busy. Upon arrival of our food, my wife's order had to go back because they got her order wrong, and my food was cold. The server could tell we were less than pleased and did everything she could to make it right. As the food goes, over all, it was unimpressive for the price of each meal. Portions were small, not particularly flavorful, and as previously mentioned, cold. Maybe it was just an off day. Props to the server for trying to make it a better experience. She is the only reason I am giving this 3-stars.
To start we had coffee to drink which my husband liked but he said it was strong. I didn't care for the first cup I had but the 2nd one seemed a bit better. I had a chicken caesar salad. The lettuce was fresh and it had the perfect amount of Caesar dressing. I thought it was a good salad. My husband had the split peas soup which he said was good. and B.L.T on sourdough bread was also good. The restaurant is kind of dark and the service was slow, to begin with, but did get better by the time we left. I used to come to Burs after church for lunch many 20+ years ago with my family and I feel like today was way better than I remember.
We went here for the first time today for breakfast and it was good so decided to return and try it for dinner. What a difference between breakfast and dinner. If I was rating this just on breakfast it would have been 5 stars. Our server, Mandy, for breakfast was excellent, checking on us multiple times despite being busy. My husband had the biscuits and gravy breakfast with a side of bacon. It was so good he finished his whole plate which also came with hash browns. I had the California scramble which came with a big helping of hash browns. I couldn't finish my breakfast the helping was so big. At dinner our server, Allaya, never checked on us, we had trouble getting her attention if we needed something, she only gets 1 star. If she trained with Mandy it could be helpful for her. At dinner I had ice tea which tasted like water. I had the special shrimp scampi which could have used more flavor. It was served with burnt (black) garlic bread. I asked for it to be replaced. Should have never been served that way. There was no garlic flavor to the bread. My husband had liver and onions, he enjoyed his dinner.
The veggies, prime rib, au ju, and gravy were really good. The mashed potatoes and baked potato soup had zero flavor. Our waitress never came by to check on us or to see if we needed refills on our drinks. She looked quite unhappy to be working. None of the staff were very welcoming at all. It was our first and last visit to this restaurant.
Been by this place a few times. Open seating. Place was cute and fun, the atmosphere was very neighborhood vibe. The server was nice and the restaurant was clean. Food options were great, had a lot of specials on the white board. Decided on corned beef hash, made in house. It was pretty good. I’d definitely go back.
Had a great time at the burs restaurant. Had a wonderful dining service and experience. Ryann was a super helpful server and made our time more enjoyable. Can't wait till next time!
Got the French dip sandwich. Honestly was very good. Perfect amount of crisp on the bread. Just enough meat. The au jus dip was flavorful and savory. Potato salad was okay, just happy it was a actual portion and not overloaded. Service was really good and tentative.
