Burger Up Franklin - American restaurant in Franklin - 401 Cool Springs Blvd B, USA

Last night, I went with a group of friends to Burger Up in Franklin. The space is nice, and a little bit bigger than I expected. The host actually ended up being our server, so that was fun. He had a fun attitude, which is always enjoyable. Unfortunately, we didn't all arrive at the same time and I believe the slower beginning of service was caused by that. We probably should have been more clear about wanting to order before everyone arrived (because look, we all get hungry and what appetizers when we are waiting for our friends sometimes). We did finally grab him and order appetizers, which came out fairly quickly. We ordered the nachos and the fried mac and cheese balls. The nachos are gluten free, and I found them to be absolutely delicious. If you, however, are one of those people who doesn't like cilantro, either by choice or by genetics... You should definitely say no cilantro. Those nachos came with tons of cilantro! Sorry for the partially eaten photo... we were hungry 🤣 I didn't get a photo of the mac and cheese balls, but I did eat one despite them not being gluten free. They were also very good, and the small portion didn't upset my barley sensitive stomach. For meals, we ordered mostly burgers and one patty melt. Two of us got gluten-free buns. The search for the perfect gluten-free bun is never-ending, but this one at least had good flavor. It was a bit dry and crumbly, but really... Not a bad gluten-free bun considering all the ones I've had. The burger itself was good, and it was pretty large. I did finish it, though! I told you I was hungry. I will say that when I ordered the burger with a gluten-free bun, our server mentioned that the burger patty I ordered was not gluten free. This is an excellent point that many restaurants miss, so our server got five stars based on that. A lot of burgers have gluten in them as a binder and restaurants do not advise their servers of this. Excellent knowledge on that one. We honestly didn't talk much about the food because it's been so long and we were catching up on life, so I'm not sure other than the nachos and mac and cheese balls if everyone else liked their food. Nobody sent anything back, and they said it was good when the server came... So I'll assume it was! Really, the food was good enough and the knowledge about gluten-free just tips the place back into my revisit list. Definitely check it out! Definitely check it out!

Food was wonderful other than having mold on our pretzel buns due to them being super fresh. The manager working took care of us and gave us $20 gift cards to bless and cover the meal, which was a huge blessing. Always have had a great experience, but the mold was new, and they did a wonderful job to take care of us. Sweet people and great food!

Hit this place for a good bite right before seeing a concert (5SOS). Food hit the spot and kept me stuffed until I returned to the hotel. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Everyone was having fun, the workers were extremely happy and whoever happened to be the duty manager that evening was exceptional and keeping things moving. Would stop by again if I were in town!

Ordered a Ramsey classic burger and was a bit disappointed. Felt like the meat was overcooked and I could barely taste any pimento cheese, which was a huge reason why I chose the burger. The sweet potato fries was the MVP. Don't know what they seasoned them with, but I could've just had a bowl of them. The fried oreos were fantastic. Overall good service and atmosphere, but wasn't impressed with my burger.

A co-coworker and I went mid-week during lunchtime. The place was pretty empty. The food was good. The atmosphere was good. The service was very slow. The workers seem to be hiding in the back, not attending to customers. Look at the photo, you can't see one black shirt (server) in the restaurant anywhere.

We arrived a little before 5:00 this evening and sat right down. We started with fried pickles and they were really good. The three of us orders burgers and were looking forward to the meal as Burger Up was recommended to us as a must eat while in Nashville. Then we waited, and waited…… and waited. We rarely saw the waiter. When we did he kept telling us our food should be right out. Then we noticed all the people around us, who arrived well after us, had their food and many were halfway done eating. Finally I stopped the waiter and asked if there was a problem. He said that there “was a problem with our ticket” but that they had moved it to the front of the line. I guess that means our order was overlooked or not turned in. Finally, 45 minutes later our food was brought out. Our server told us “it really didn’t take that long once they got started on it”. 😒 My wife and son’s burgers were pretty good but my burger (backyard burger) just tasted like chili powder. It wasn’t eatable. Terrible. My son got the same thing and his wasn’t that way. We were very disappointed. I’m sure our experience isn’t the norm. Unfortunately it was our experience.

We have now been there twice when my in-laws have come into town. We are a party of 10. The place is a bit small, but we didn't have to wait long thankfully. The wait for the food took a while, but we are a larger party so I understand. The thing I had a problem with was I could tell the food had been sitting there a while ... My burger wasn't really hot like it was just finished .. the lower bun was soggy from sitting in the burger grease and my fries were a bit soggy as well. I gave it a second chance, but most likely will not go back. The first time was a similar experience. We have gone out as a family of 8 many times and the food is nice and hot and not soggy.

I sat at the bar, had an IPA, fried pickles, a bison burger, and bread pudding. Ashley was my bartender, and she was outstanding. She took care of everyone at the bar with prompt service and a great attitude. Eat here so she gets a raise.
