Bunk House Motel - Motel in Chadron - 901 E 3rd St, USA

The owner's are super great people and very accommodating. I loved the rustic feel of our room we had. Room was very clean. I am so glad they allowed pets. Not many places do. Hope to stay with them again in the near future.

I decided to take the scenic route (U.S. Highway system) on my road trip from Utah to Ohio. I read reviews and spent my first night at the Bunk House Motel. The proprietor really made me feel comfortable. I had an issue with the room she gave me and she quickly remedied the situation by transferring me to another room. Room had DirecTV subscription. Everything worked including the sink, toilet, and shower. Bed was very comfortable. I like this place and I recommend it to other travelers that happen to find themselves here. It's a motel in the middle of nowhere so don't expect anything fancy. Leave your expectations out in the parking lot. Just relax and sleep well.

Great motel clean and comfortable!! Very nice people! We pulled into Chadron after calling a bunch of places looking for a very early check in. The bunk house was the first place we saw. They found us a room immediately. The only one left. It was perfect. Super comfortable king size bed. Shower and rest was exactly what we needed!

We reserved for a summer weekend at a good rate. The motel is an older building on Chadron's main drag, but it's a quiet town. Check-in was efficient and friendly, and we were quickly parked at our door and moved in.||||The room was of adequate size, had new furnishings and a pillow-top mattress. No problems with cleanliness or maintenance. There were plenty of lights, and enough electric outlets available. The windows locked but had no security bar.||||The shower had a water-saver head that limited the water flow, but not so much that it became an issue. Towels were very good.||||The only negatives about the Bunk House had to do with sleep quality, and for that reason I cannot rate it higher than a 3. There was not a lot of activity in the parking lot, but we could hear it pretty clearly. The curtains let in a lot of outside light, so it was a good thing our windows did not face east.||||The Bunk House does not serve a complimentary breakfast, but there are options nearby. We dropped off our keys in the morning and were on our way, satisfied but not awestruck by the Bunk House. I would likely return next time.

Great cozy place to stay! We needed somewhere for an extended stay and the owners have been so accommodating! It is a family run business and they are very nice. We are so happy we found this place to stay. It has cute decor, hot showers, comfy beds, free parking, microwave, refrigerator with small freezer, a closet, dresser and nice TV. Our room even has a desk. Along the side is a grassy area with picnic tables. A street over is a dollar general, which is nice. The main street is only a few blocks way. I HIGHLY recommend staying here!

I have stayed her many times while my kids attended college there. Had many different rooms and was never disappointed. It is VERY clean. Not overly big but I was there to sleep, not hang out in the room. Owners are very nice. There is no breakfast but there is coffee in the office in the morning. It’s alng the highway but rooms are quiet.

I’m not sure how this place gets 4 1/2 out of five. This is the first 1/5 review I’ve ever posted for a hotel. ||Our first clue should have been the general unkempt appearance of the grounds. ||The man at the front desk was very polite and welcoming. His very cute young son (I presume) insisted on handing me my room key. ||We should have turned around left when the overwhelming scent of air freshener greeted us (or at least requested a move to another room), but it was getting toward evening and we’d had a long drive. I suspect the scent was covering up for a moldy smell that would inevitably happen when there is a hole punched or kicked into the fiberglass shower wall that could not help but gather water into the wall. I should have taken photos. ||I went back to the office and asked where their ice machine was located. I was told I could buy ice at the dollar store next door. What hotel/motel doesn’t have an ice machine? ||I resigned myself to having no ice, but found there were no cups. The front desk was amazingly able to find a couple of plastic cups. ||They haven’t updated their electrical outlets so in order to charge my phone, I had to push the bed to the side to find an outlet. ||Tip: If you’re going to require guests moving the beds, take a minute to vacuum along the baseboards more than once a year. ||To their credit, the beds were reasonably comfortable. ||Needless to say, we were not staying a second night. We left before the office opened. When I called well before checkout time, the woman refused to refund the cost of the second night saying that she had already turned away potential customers. Considering that the place appeared about one quarter occupied, the only way that could reasonably be the case is if at least half the rooms are uninhabitable. Judging from our experience, that could well be true. But I have asked my credit card issuer to refund the second night’s lodging. ||Lesson learned: Check with more than one review site. (The Bunkhouse isn’t even listed on Yelp.) Make sure the reviews are up to date. Only one review on TA since 2018. Ask to see your room before you check in.

This place is so cute! It’s a little off the beaten path but so worth it! The beds are extremely comfortable! Very clean! The owners were so friendly and went above and beyond. No breakfast but there is coffee. Very affordable. The decor is so fun! We will be staying here again!
