I heard this place has the best bun Bo hue so I was really excited to try this place. It definitely did not disappoint, the meats were really well cooked and tender and my favorite were the slices of pork belly. The broth was more clear than I’m use to for a bun Bo hue broth but it was still savory and spicy, I think for me it would’ve been the perfect Bun Bo Hue if the broth flavor was just a bit bolder and saltier which is probably a personal preference.
Another great recommendation from a friend. There are so many Vietnamese places to eat out here that I feel like you can't go wrong. The BBH here is better than most of the places back home for me. The flavor of the broth is great, and the quantity is also generous (maybe twice as much as what I'm used to). I also ordered a side of meat, not knowing how much protein was in the bowl. They have some fresh chili that you can add to make it spicier. One thing to remember that they only take cash or debit card (no credit cards).
The food is good and reasonably priced. The only downside is that they only accept cash, so make sure to bring some with you. I highly recommend the sugarcane juice. It's fresh and delicious.
Authentic taste of Bun Bo Hue. I got recommended from a friend who lives here for a long time. This place is known best for its Bun Bo Hue, as is its name. We ordered one Bun Bo Hue and one Pho Tai Bo Vien, with an iced coffee with condensed milk. No comment on Bun Bo Hue because it’s very good. Pho was okay, but the iced coffee with condensed milk was super strong and thick. I have to let ice melt to tone down the strong flavor. This is just like what a Vietnamese would drink. Strong coffee with ice that you can drink all day. The staff was fast and attentive. They moved fast, took orders fast and served fast.
We are from the east coast so the portions and flavors are out of this world. If you can get past the small homeless camp in front of the store, the food and services are excellent. Service is quick and friendly and the portions are huge. Highly recommended. $17-19 for a bowl.
When you first walk into Bun Bo Hue An Nam, it smells like fermented shrimp paste. We order a few bowls bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle) $17, hu tieu/mi nam vang (dry noodles with soup on the side) $17 and a kid's size pho thit with meatballs $9. Everything tasted great. For the hu tieu nam vang, I love how you can mix the vegetables into the noodles. It almost felt like eating a salad. When you get to the bottom, are there crispy pork grind pieces with ground pork meat. The soup on the side had a nice size bone in it with some meat. They made the egg noodles with the right amount of cooking time leaving it firm and not soft. Great job staff at Bun Bo Hue An Nam.
Finally returned to Bun Bo Hue An Nam after loving it when I first tried it in high school. Service is no nonsense like usual. Prices have increased as expected. The amount of food in regular and large bowl is actually pretty similar so I recommend the regular. I enjoyed my bowl but wished there was more beef. The pork was great, maybe more flavor would have been perfect. I love how much vegetables they give. The tendon and blood were delicious. I'm not a big fan of cha so I can't comment on it. Spice was perfect level so that it was enjoyable without being overkill. My friends also got cafe sua da (Vietnamese coffee) and it was good but pretty strong though!!
They do not accept credit cards here!lucky I had enough cash on me. Bun bo hue was okay. From the name, I would that it would taste much better. Hell my bun bo hue is better! They also close at 9:00 PM. Early for a restaurant. Damned busboy was hovering over me to finish so he could go home.
