Buffalo Marriott Niagara - Hotel in Amherst - 1340 Millersport Hwy, USA

Fantastic service and staff. OK facilities. The front desk staff was beyond nice. Andrew [maybe?] was incredibly helpful, courteous, and I can't say enough nice about him. Even the cleaning staff asked if there was anything I needed as I was going into my room. Few minor things: The room was recently renovated and looked nice, but small things, like the bathroom light switch not being installed cleanly, took a little away. The pool itself was nice, although a little outdated, but everything worked. Very cool to be able to swim from inside to outside. All in all, a very nice experience with a few little finishing touches that could be cleaned up.

Positive: The rooms were generally very quiet, and were recently remodeled. They were clean and functional. The staff was nice. The hotel restaurant was very good. The beds were comfortable (but the pillows were not). Negative: Housekeeping was spotty at best. They failed to make the beds (made one but not the other); skipped the room completely a couple of days. They didn't leave toilet paper or coffee, and the coffee in the room was awful. No microwave, bad fridge.

Room was newly renovated and clean. Not a fan of the barn door to the bathroom as smells can escape into the rest of the room. Service was very friendly at the front desk. The hotel is currently under a lot of renovations which means it will be nicer and newer for future guests. Only big criticism is the hotel breakfast is not good at all and needs to be improved. I would stay here again if needed

We recently stayed here for a night passing through the area. Although the hotel is currently being renovated, our room had already been updated. It was lovely! The bathroom was very spa like, bed was incredibly comfortable, and I can't say enough about how much I love a hotel room without a carpeted floor!!! So much cleaner!! Staff was friendly and very helpful. Yes, the hallways and elevators are still being updated, but I would highly recommend staying here.

I would give 2.5 stars but no one reads those. This Marriott did not meet expectations. This hotel does not have FREE BREAKFAST. For 3 cup/plastic bowls of cereal and 2 milks it came out to $18! The rooms that say sleeps 5 (two queen beds) does NOT have a couch and does NOT have the option to add a roll away. So as long as you are good with 3 people in a queen you are good. The halls and elevator are visibly dirty. They are remodeling (I assume one floor at a time) but the dirt isn't from the construction that is going on. The halls have a bit of the old musty smell (almost like a cigar). Our newly remodeled room was alright as far as appearing clean except for the shower drain (it had other people's hairs in it). I am getting older and my neck likes a thin pillow. When I asked if they had a thin pillow the person at the front desk looked at me funny, went to the back and came back with a pillow and said all their pillows are the same. I don't know if I was just supper tiered that night or the pillow was thinner then the previous night, either way slept better without neck pain. Okay, where does the 2.5 stars come in? Andrew was kind when checking in. He and the lady he was working along side made the best arrangements for us (2 adaults 3 children) they could without changing more. I felt like they cared about our needs. I can't say the same for the weekend crew. They were 'just doing their job'. The pool and hot tub looked clean enough. It did have a strong chlorine smell. The water was warm enough. The hot tub was really warm. The hot tub made quite a lot of noise. The children love swimming and spent a couple hours in there. If the hotel had clean floors I would give it another 1.5 stars. If the staff were all like Andrew and (I am sorry I don't remember her name) I would give another .5 stars. There is just so much you can do to make an old hotel nice. If you made it this far make so this review stays relevant if it was helpful to you.

With the renovated rooms, the hard product here is really great. The front desk staff was fantastic and quickly provided resolutions when things didn’t go right (like my room not being available when I arrived). There’s also plenty of parking and the hotel is super convenient to the highway. Unfortunately there’s a couple problems that prevent this from being a five-star experience. The first was an interaction with one of the management staff (Doreen, Denise? Sorry I can’t remember her name) that really left me feeling uncomfortable. Second was hairs in my breakfast one morning, not cool. Finally I did find the air conditioning kind of loud in my room, it woke me up one night when it turned on. All that said, I would still stay here again if the price was right.

Me and my family stayed in this hotel for 4 nights this hotel is very nice and the rooms look awesome the glass shower has a soft close sliding door that was different never seen one of them before. They have a 24hr fitness center switch is a plus and the pool is open until 11pm also good another that they have that I thought was unique was the electric fire pits they have in the courtyard that the guest can use. The pool is an indoor outdoor one but the outdoor was closed. The only down side to my stay was they were renovating the property so I lot a banging but not to bad and the WiFi was down on the higher floors. But overall nice hotel I would recommend!

We have been to this hotel many, many times but not in recent years. We used to love it there but got away from full service type hotels tending to stay in ones with more living area especially with family along. This was just my husband and me. The hotel has been renovated nicely. We were in room 920. When we arrived the first thing I noticed was how big the room was but there was a lamp in the corner with a small table in the other corner. There was no chair to sit on though other than the desk chair. I thought that was strange so went for a walk down the hall to see if any other rooms had the door open so I could see in and sure enough other rooms had a chair. I asked the young man doing housekeeping about this and he did not understand what I meant til he came to our room and saw the empty spot. We got a chair soon after. I found the bed uncomfortable and the pillows were flat. |We had lounge access so my husband went up to check it out. It was directly above us. His key didn't work so he went down to the desk to get it fixed. He came back to get me and we both went up to the lounge but again the key didn't work. I waited there while he went back down and this time the nice young lady from the front desk came up with him. It turns out it was something wrong with the door. We did get into the lounge though and later the door was fixed. The evening assortment of food was great. The young man in the lounge for the evening was great. The next morning was completely different though. When we arrived just before 0830 there was nothing left of breakfast and no attendant. Dishes were mostly empty. We sat at a table to wait and see if anyone came to replenish. We waited at least 15 minutes until finally a woman brought a cart full of stuff. We waited until she set it all out before we got anything. I asked her "Are you the only one on here?" as most hotels have at least 2 staff in the mornings in their lounge. She lit into me immediacy and said "I'm doing the best I can!" She went on and on about the difficulties she had and said to me that all these other people ate the food before I got there and that I was not there when she left to get more. Oh and she said I was the only one who "complained" although I only asked her a question. When I went to get a coffee it was empty and she said she had a fresh pot to bring out. After waiting at least 5 or more minutes she came back and said she thought she had made a pot but hadn't so she was making one now. She eventually brought it out. It was not a very enjoyable experience.|Overall as I said before the hotel is nicely renovated but there is a problem with hardwood/laminate flooring. There is a lot of noise above. As I said we were below the lounge. At about 11 pm it sounded like they were moving furniture and bouncing balls up there. This happened again around 6 am.|We may or may not try this hotel again. As I said we had been there before and liked it. I don't want to sound too critical and if the morning service had been at least a little better I might have given the hotel a better rating.
