Budget Lodge - Motel in Newport News - 930 J Clyde Morris Blvd, USA

Stayed overnight because it was right down the street from my appointment. Pros: -Front desk staff was friendly and quick to help. -Room was very clean -Comfortable bed -Good water pressure Cons: -Not toiletries provided except soap -Walls are very thin so you can hear the rooms above and beside very well -Room smelled heavily of cleaning product For the price this is a great hotel. Just bring your own toiletries and earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Running the AC cleared out the smell quickly. Definitely would recommend if you're on a budget.

The room smelled funny. I would suggest using a carpet cleaner. There were burn holes in the blankets and sheets. I had to turn the A/C on to kill the smell. The toilet was not cleaned properly. The guy at the front desk was cool. It should really be turned into a homeless shelter. I should have stayed at the super 8 or the holiday inn. First time and last time.

Place is fine-ish— for the price, not the best stay but not the worst. Woman at front is rude; will ignore you, have an attitude, and is unable to solve issues should any arise. Husband was cordial. Would not recommend at all if there are better options.

Very unpleasant front desk, behind bulletproof glass, beside an abandoned hotel. Doesn’t seem safe at all. Wouldn’t risk my personal property overnight, likely won’t be there in the morning. Odd smell as well.

Hotel, wife and husband are very friendly and respectful to me and my friend. We come every weekend just to enjoy peace and quiet

Smell is intense. I don't know if it's the mold or cleaning but really noticeable. A little better in the bathroom. Don't know how you sleep in room 111!

I've stayed at Budget Lodge several times now and really have no complaints. Management is super and I haven't had any issues with my room. Beds are comfy and plenty of hot water for baths. You should certainly inform management if you're dissatisfied with anything and I'm sure they will take care of you. You won't beat the price for this area and is located at the I-64 Rt. 17 exit.

This will be the last time I stay here. I’ve stayed here in the past and have had no issues until now. For some reason the staff was very rude and when housekeeping came to the door they had attitudes. I’ll take my business elsewhere.
