Great rooms, very clean, and customer service was excellent!!!
Don’t be fooled like I was! The “Budget Inn” is actually the King Star Inn. I’ll start by saying I don’t expect much from small town hotels/motels but this was absolutely disgusting. Filthy walls, bugs (dead, alive and eggs), floors, sheets, mattress, etc. I’m actually surprised at how dirty the room was. We left before even bringing our stuff into the room and drove 20 minutes to stay at a chain hotel in Center, TX. It was well worth the drive and the extra $10. The hotel manager is an absolute joke. I really don’t know how this place is even in business. If you want to feel like you’re sleeping in a gas station bathroom, this place is for you.
I booked my room for one price but actually received a better and cheaper rate when I got to the hotel. The staff was okay. The hotel was actually better then a expected it too look. The room had a nice decor, it didn't look cheap. It didn't smell bad. The room was clean the sheets and bathroom were fantastically clean. Everything in the room worked.
I made a reservation on December 4 and they stated they would have it ready, then I called again on the 21st to verify and also add another day, they stated that was fine and great and everything would be ready on the 24th when I get there. I get to the establishment and was ready to check in when I was told there was no reservation and that if I wanted a room I would have to go back the following which left me without a place to stay for the night, it wasn't for the other inn I would have had to have slept in my car. Horrible owner of this inn. He was rude, completely unapologetic, and would not take accountability for their error.
I run a film production company and we were shooting a small project in the national forest nearby. Chose this place cause it was a short drive to our shooting location and the price was reasonable. Was really shocked at how well maintained the rooms were and how nice they ended up being. I honestly expected it would be kind of dumpy because it's such a small town but it was really comparable to any nice motel I've stayed at before. The couple who run the place were really kind to us and accommodated our large crew and need for extra pillows ect. Would stay here if I was in the area
Always check in late after visiting family and rooms are clean great and quite. Management/staff very helpful and friendly. Tried going to the place around the corner could never get anyone to come to door. This place will take care of you and never had a problem with the internet any of the times I stayed there.
Stayed here July 7th.. had a funeral to attend.. I must say I felt bad at first glance.. looked kinda run down.. but found out a tornado damaged most of the town.. the owner was such a great guy.. the rooms were very clean and roomy.. would definitely be back here ... Don't be fooled by the outward appearance of the place. Tornadoes suck!
My husband stayed in this hotel while working nearby (oil & gas). I had purchased him an Apple Ipod touch to stay in contact through facebook when there was wi-fi available. He and a co-worker left the room at the same time for work and returned at the same time after work. Upon returning his Ipod was gone. When he informed the hotel management they refused to even call police or give him the phone number. He had to go to a convenient store to get the number. No one else had access to the room accept management and housekeeping. So needless to say we are out of well over $300 for the ipod and applications. So it turned out to be a very expensive stay!
