Budget Inn-Punta Gorda - Motel in Punta Gorda - 1520 Tamiami Trl, USA

This place is a joke. Dont count on the WIFI working. The reception was intermittent. We were without it for 7 days. Which means no tv. Thank God we had unlimited data on our phones. The room smelled like an ashtray. Walls are paper thin. We saw 2 rcockroaches the first day. Housekeeping never came in , we had to ask for fresh towels. Garbage scattered all over the premises. The only positive thing I can say , is I had the pool to myself for a week. It was cheap and now I know why.

Gross. We had a late flight and just needed a place to crash before picking up a rental car in the am. The room smells like an ashtray. The sofa is stained and sagging. Dirty sink, bathroom and shower floor. Lumpy bed with holes on the sheets. Not even matching sheets. Didn’t even want to take my clothes off to sleep. Just eeeew!

An associate stayed here and was pleased with the accommodations, price, and service. Close to major highways, restaurants, and nightlife. Clean facilities.

Positive: Cheap. Near pickleplex. Bath was nicely renovated Negative: Even first floor was only accessed by several steps. Nothing felt clean. Linens were not good. Hole in bedspread. Pillows old. Room smelled of smoke, a little. Sink was cracked. Negative: ""

Positive: Nothing at all .we thought it is being used as a halfway house it was filthy ,and none of us felt safe so we left and stayed somewhere else . You should not even list this place on your website. Negative: Very dirty ,felt unsafe ,cracked ceilings, should be ashamed to charge 143 a night here. Negative: ""

Right off, the front desk clerk was slow, cranky, and plain rude. When we asked where our room was, he sent us on the wrong side of the hotel. We then entered our room to find we were given a room that had not been cleaned from the last guest. After walking back to the front desk, the clerk gave us a new room. Which was completely dirty. It’s hard to believe that housekeeping is still employed. All the surfaces had residue from whatever the previous guest had put on them. The floors were filthy; I find it hard to believe they were ever swept. The only positive thing to say about our room was the bedding appeared clean, and the AC unit worked well. We definitely will not be returning to waste any more money, and advise others not waste there money.

I wouldn’t give this place even one star. I had to book a room as an emergency. This was one of the only motels available. I booked a king size room online. When I arrived to check in the desk person says “oh no the boss will flip if I put 3 people in a king size room. Mind you they were my children. I had to have my mom come get my youngest. The room looks like it came straight out of a horror film. The floor was so dirty that we had to walk everywhere with shoes on. Other peoples hair all over the place including in the bathroom. Stains on the couches. The door didn’t sit on the floor so there was 1/2 inch open to the outside. Bugs crawled in and out all the time. Both nights there were a group of people gathered outside smoking pot. Stay clear of this place. Spend the extra money to guarantee your safety and cleanliness.

At the time of writing this review, I was a box truck driver traveling over the road, so low cost accommodations were essential to my business. This stay was also not long after Hurricane Ian pummeled the area. This hotel was a welcome night of rest. The room was spacious, with a King size bed, full size fridge, and a sofa! 10/10 would stay here again. I rated the service at 3 stars because the guy checking me in was far more concerned with watching "Walker, Texas Ranger" reruns than checking me in, and I had to remind him several times to return both my driver's license and credit card lol.
