Budget Inn - Motel in Front Royal - 1122 N Royal Ave, USA

My husband and I went down to visit my favorite cousin. The owner was very friendly and helpful with places to visit within walking distance along with some nice eateries. The rooms were affordable. Very clean. Too be honest I truly wasn't expecting much. I was more concerned with the price than any amenities at the time I booked it. The majority of the rooms were rented our by the week most everyone knew each other. Have to say it was a nice change from Baltimore. Look. Everyone was so friendly. They even cooked or on the grill and had a neighborhood dinner.

Just a place the locals use for meth and cocaine use. Not a good experience We did in fact stay here but unfortunately it was not a good experience no lies. I'm sorry you don't like our review. Hopefully others will have better luck

Its a great place. Affordable and management is amazing. We stayed about two months. The worst thing I could say is it's an old building but they have the rooms clean. Comfortable beds. Never saw any bugs. Mini fridge. TV. Wifi. Microwave. Everything any other hotel would have but the couple that runs the hotel are very sweet which made our stay great. Thanks again!!

Arrived to find lobby closed. Greeted by tatooed lady guarding the entrance with her friendly little dog. Then a shirtless guy with a nice smile came out of his room to join in the conversation about "where is the manager?"||Discussed why emotional support dogs help with delayed stress syndrome and other ailments while we waited,||Watched a guy drag a mattress across the lot and dump it next to another parking space.||Kind of a carnival atmosphere, but we were the only customers at this carny. Finally a woman came out of another motel room to greet us. She seemed stressed and probably needed the emotional support dog more than the tattooed lady or the shirtless guy,||"I don't know why they keep doing this," she muttered after I explained we booked the room on Expedia. "We don't have any rooms ready. Why do they do this?"||She took me to the room. It smelled like industrial cleaner and the beds were unmade. The TV was on and displayed an out of service notification from the cable company. There were two cable boxes piled up.||"The cable is out, and I don't know why or when they will fix it," she said. "Do you want me to call another motel?"||Some teenagers walked by and some guy was yelling at the manager for something he needed. She seemed flustered and I began to feel sorry for her even if this was a scam. This reservation had a no cancellation policy and we were SOL.||We called Expedia and discovered that they provide no refund. Instead Expedia allows a perfect system for bunco artists to collect money online and then present a nightmare scenario that guarantees no one sleeping at the Budget Inn Front Royal.||To cool off the mark, the "manager" gave us 35 dollars for "dinner." "that's all the cash I have on me," she said.||The shirtless guy came over to help her usher us out and told us "that was a good deal. I'd take it if I were you."||As we left I promised the "manager" we would return if we had problems with the rest of our refund. This review fulfills part of my promise.||This Budget Inn seemed to be a rehab center, not a motel for travelers.||It reminded me of the Manson Family Spahn Ranch depicted in "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood." All smiles, all friendly, but don't go there after dark.||||You have been warned.

Front Royal is a tourist town due to its proximity to scenic skyline drive, and a number of caves. As such, there is an abundance of motels in town. The Budget Inn is definitely on the lower end, but it's not bad for one night. The outside looks old and rundown, but the room was ok. It has a refrigerator and microwave. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. If you're on a budget, it's a decent place to stay.

This place is awful. They say pets allowed and only $8 per pet, but yet tried to charge us $58 altogether for the pets. How do you get $58 out of $16? They are rude and the rooms are disgusting. Smells like mildew and nothing works. There are holes in the walls and there is no housekeeping, so good luck getting clean sheets and towels. Been here for 3 days and now trying to say having pets is against their health code violation..? Then why tell people pets are allowed. Makes no damn sense. I would highly recommend not staying here. It's ridiculous.

Lodging in Front Royal is primarily limited to the older motels that were the mainstay before major chains began building across the country. We arrived late in the day and had no reservations so we just pulled into a couple of the local motels and gave them a quick overview before deciding on the Budget Inn. While nothing fancy, we were pleasantly surprised by the overall cleanliness of the room. Showers are good, beds are comfortable, and owners are very nice. Not a place you'd want to stay for an extended period, but a reasonable choice for an overnight stay.

We realize it is a cheap hotel. The cost of the (so called) non-smoking room was $10 more than a smoking room ($65/$55). The owners/staff were unfriendly, uncooperative, and somewhat rude. We did stay in the smoking room. We asked the owner if they had any air freshener and he said they don't use those anymore. The air conditioner was a window unit that sounded like a Mack truck using the Jake brake every 30 seconds.
