Budget Inn Belvidere, IL - Motel in Belvidere - 1345 N State St, USA

My family had a death in the family and needed a place for some out of state relatives to stay. I booked them a room here over the phone. 30 min after they checked in they checked out. Not only was the shower curtain duck tapped together, the outlet covers were broken, sheets and towels were stained, spots on wall that looked like blood and dead cockroaches. In office when they asked for a refund which they were denied they even saw live cockroaches. The front desk people were extremely rude. I would never ever book here again. Don’t think they are even related to budget inn franchise just using their name. We were already upset due to passing of immediate family but to deal with this on same day made it even worse. Dirty nasty rooms and extremely rude people. It’s amazing they have not been shut down and condemned!

I work at the Chrysler plant , I stayed at this little motel , Very well ran establishment. Very accommodating! Pet friendly.Love a place where I can take my dog!! Good WiFi. Clean. Comfy. And staff all have good attitudes and are very helpful! Would totally recommend to anyone that this is the place to stay when you're needing a place to stay for awhile. Love that they have Fridge and Microwaves.Had a wonderful stay, very friendly people and had a very peaceful and relaxed time.

I stayed at this motel for a week while I was working in Rockford. It was perfect for work. I brought my two dogs and cat. My animals were very content with all the parks and forests that we were able to walk in. Close to all sorts of large parks and forests. Granted, it is not a five star hotel that you'll have a mint waiting for you on your pillow but; it served it's purpose well. The room was a little small but; the management was so helpful and accommodating. They told me I could have a larger one when it became available. But, it seemed to work out regardless. I will definitely return to this motel in the future if I have any more contracts in this area. If I had stayed in Rockford then: I don't think I would have been treated so nicely. The management may not leave a mint but; they treat you so well it doesn't really matter

Maybe I’m too nice, but I never complained to them while I was there. However I think everyone considering staying here needs to read this. It is a nice, quiet, private motel in northern Belvidere with close proximity to the river parks, downtown Belvidere and the Chrysler plant. The owner and his wife were both very nice. But here are some things you should know. They do not provide refunds, so be sure you know you have to stay for the whole time you reserved (this wasn’t an issue for me but it is useful information to know ahead of time). The rooms smell like cigarette smoke so be sure to bring some air fresheners. The sheets and towels may have been washed but did not look clean as they had stains on them (no one wants to use towels or sheets with stains, the thought gives me goosebumps). The room comes with a mini fridge and microwave, both of which needed wiped down. The shower is a standing only shower and was not very clean with old soap bars and hairs hidden in the metal rail above the shower. The toilet had an old painted wooden seat with paint chipping off and the bowl had rust stains inside. The sink was fairly clean with only a few left over hairs around the edges. The bed was comfortable but I refused to use their stained sheets or comforter and put a sleeping bag on top of a clean sheet I picked up at Walmart. I’m not always a clean freak but I expect simple things like wiping down the room to be done wherever I’m paying money to stay. I’ve stayed in many hotels and motels and I know what to expect for what I pay to stay there. I understand this isn’t a five-star hotel but keeping a place presentable is just common courtesy. I used a whole bottle of Clorox spray and a whole roll of paper towels just to make the place clean enough that I was comfortable. If I had asked them for unstained sheets and to do a better job cleaning, they might have done it, but I’m too nice to complain and decided to clean it myself. I hate giving bad reviews but when you see a place has 4/5 ratings on several different sites, you expect it to be a lot better than it actually was. Budget Inn, if you read this as it appears you respond to most reviews, just think about buying some new sheets and towels, cleaning a little bit more thoroughly and getting rid of the smoke smell and I guarantee you will improve the quality of your motel.

The only pro is that the staff is very friendly. My mom and I stayed in room 116 and we believe the beds had bed bugs because we found a whole bunch of bugs that resemble them on both of our beds. The microwave had bugs in it. The ground had dead bugs in it. The toilet is so very old that it can't flush easily. There was 3 plugs and one of them was taken up by the retro tv and the other two were in such inconvenient spots that we had trouble let charging things. One of the outlets was right next to the fridge and the bottom plug was broken and the outlet cover was loose. The other outlet was located right next to the bathroom and that outlet was about 5 feet above the ground. The shower wasn't cleaned and nor was the mini fridge. I didn't even want to shower here because of how disgusting it was. They don't even provide a plunger. We paid $200-something for three nights and it wasn't even worth it. Again, the only pro was that staff was very nice and friendly.

Spent a couple nights here. Was my mistake not to check out the room before paying. Paid first and there are no refunds. Place was dirty. Mold on carpet by baseboard and toilet. Lmao said I got the good room? Serious? I have pictures. Forgot about writing a review till I was checking out photos and came across them. After the two nights I paid for I spent my last night in Rockford. This place is a joke in our house hold. Thankfully a friend of mine had an extra can of air freshener to help us make it through 2 nights. Luckily we were busy and didn’t spend much time there!

The staff of Budget Inn (a family owned business) was very friendly. They worked with my local Church to get me a room for a week. Kishan and his wife are a God send! The owners treated me like family. The room was clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay there again.

We stayed at this motel a week ago for one night. There's not many choices in the area, to be honest and this one received the best rating of others in a 20 mile radius. I don't know if others who left a review stayed at a different motel than this one, but our||experience was horrible! The place was dirty, unkept with cobwebs and dirt in corners. The beds were poorly made. The windows and sills were filthy and coated with dead bugs! The bathroom fixtures were pulling away from wall. Need I say more? I do not like to put a bad spin on something that isn;t true, but this place needs some TLC-Bad!||For a place that has a population of 25,000+, I can't believe this is the "best" of lodging that is offered. VERY disappointed!
