Bubba - Southern restaurant (US) in Des Moines - 200 10th St, USA

Had the most amazing time at Bubba and have been here once before but this visit warranted a review. Our server Mercedes went ABOVE AND BEYOND during our meal. My family and I had the fried chicken (dark meat), Mac & cheese, collard greens, green beans, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, blackened catfish and it was absolutely divine. The drinks are SO GOOD but I have to say Mercedes gets a second shout out because she was GIVING lessons on customer service. She left NO CRUMBS (both figuratively and literally). Thank you for the most wonderful time!

Wonderful! Every dish we had was fabulous. We started with amazing hush puppies, so crunchy on the outside soft and tasty on the inside. Everything from the Cajun noodles, Jambalaya, Crispy Succatash to the pecan pie and hummingbird cake was fantastic!

I am from the South Carolina, so I had high expectations. This place did not disappoint. The shrimp and grits were a whole party in my mouth. The fried green tomatoes took me back to my childhood. The BBQ meatloaf was insane! Service was spectacular. Reasonably priced. Atmosphere was dope! 10/10 I will be taking my friends and family here when they come visit now that I live in Iowa.

I have been here for dinner and lunch. Food was great during dinner, ok during lunch. Overall still a great place with an awesome selection of cocktails, especially bourbons. Service is always friendly.

What gorgeous interiors and lovely staff. The food made me want to cry it was so tasty! I was passing by Des Moines on a road trip. Didn’t expect Bubba to become one of my favourite restaurants! The crab cakes sent me to heaven and the Buttermilk chicken Cobb salad!! I have no words! The salad was incredible I have been trying to recreate it since! Lovely bourbon cocktails too. Can’t wait to come back!

We didn't expect such a fancy looking place. It was such a surprise. The food, wait staff, and prices were exceptional. They also had several unique food choices that you don't see anywhere else. Too bad we live so far away, I would come here every week.

The food at Bubba's, a restaurant in Des Moines, Iowa, is fantastic, and you shouldn't miss it if you ever find yourself in the area. It was difficult to make a decision from the restaurant's menu because there were so many tasty options. My waitress, Nicole, not only suggested items that were crowd pleasers but also some of her favorites on the menu. Truth be told, I originally intended to order chicken, but after perusing the menu and discussing my options with Nicole, I settled on the blackened catfish. The richness and freshness of this southern dish were out of this world. I was informed by Nicole that I may include a piece of chicken in my meal, so I did just that. I'll never forget the Dewey sausage and succotash that came with the red beans and rice. The red beans and rice and chicken were so delicious that I ordered takeout for tomorrow's lunch. This gem of a restaurant serves you fantastic southern cuisine, so don't miss it.

Everything was perfect. Service. Ambiance. Food. I had the hot brown and pimento mac. My husband had the fried dark meat chicken with mac and collard greens. Hot damn on the collard greens! You could drink the broth that was left as soup. The spices in those greens were delicious and they were perfectly cooked. Best mac I've had. The bechamels were perfectly creamy. Such a great dining experience. Wish we lived close by. Lovely downtown area.
