Spent two nights at the Brownstone Inn in early May. The house is a heritage property full of beautiful antiques and art work. My boyfriend and I stayed in the large ensuite room which was furnished beautifully and with absolutely all the comforts (lovely bedding, robes, plush towels, etc). The owner, Robin, was a great host with lots of recommendations about what to see and do during our stay in Cleveland. Breakfast was wonderful - eggs and toast with lots of fresh fruit and coffee. We highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Cleveland.

We have stayed in several motels in the Cleveland area while visiting friends and enjoying this vastly underrated city. The Brownstone combines several attributes that make it our favorite so far. The price is very reasonable considering how close it is to downtown, and its easy drive to Little Italy, University Circle, and downtown. The owner (Robyn?) is a personable man with a wealth of knowledge of Cleveland history and local attractions. He also knows how to cook eggs. ||While the positives far outweigh the negatives, one should know that there are several 'quirks' that might upset some. This is a one-man operation (more or less) so there is not always someone on site to cater to guests. The linens and towels are not changed every day, although I'm sure Robyn would accomodate any needs if asked. There are no televisions (except for one room) and the wifi is spotty (to be kind). As previous posters have noticed, the place does have a dusty, cluttered vibe but is in no way dirty - more like your eccentric great-aunt's house after she stopped dusting every day. Lastly, we must respectfully disagree with Robyn's opinion of Sokolowski's Inn. We love it, his opinion is quite different. ||If you're going to be in Cleveland and want an affordable, unique, comfortable place to stay you probably won't do better than the Brownstone.

The brownstone is beautiful and unique. It is not often you can stay someplace with so much character and history. The Inn-keeper is amazing. He helped us find great places to eat and explore while in Cleveland. His breakfasts were delicious. We had a great time at the breakfast table talking and sharing stories with our new friends that were also staying at the B&B. I am sure there are other wonderful places to stay in Cleveland, but I may never find them! I will certainly stay in the Brownstone the next chance I have.

I have lost count of the number of times I have stayed at the Brownstone Inn but every time it is just like coming home to my other home. All the way from New Zealand and I am exhausted by the time I arrive. Coffee is always ready...and good coffee.||Robin is his usual lovely self. Such a sweet man and so helpful. I can't begin to list the things he has done to help me out. ||This time my mission was to purchase a car for my daughter and what do you know, Robin knew a great mechanic just around the corner who could check it out for me.||I consider I am so lucky to have this lovely place to stay. I have to add that I love the beds. I have stayed in lots of different rooms and the beds are so comfortable.||I was a little concerned this time as it was my first winter visit to Cleveland. There was snow the night I arrived. The house and my room were toasty warm. ||If you are a woman travelling alone, this is a great place to stay. You feel very safe.

This was our 3rd stay at the Brownstone Inn and it most definitely will not be our last. My fiancé and I frequent Downtown Cleveland a few times a year and we have chosen to stay at the Brownstone Inn each time. We have made the Brownstone Inn our home away from home whenever we just need a lil getaway from the norm. Robyn is so very knowledgeable of the city he lives in that if we are ever up in the air about what were going to do that day, he always has plenty of suggestions when asked. We have never been without something to do. You can also tell in his conversations about Downtown Cleveland how much he loves the city and the diversity of its activities. ||The breakfast is always nice and plenty of food to get your day started. There is always coffee, tea and juice in the morning. There is also wine available for an evening drink, if that’s your thing. We have always chosen a bedroom with a private bath. My experience in those rooms has always been warm and inviting with comfy beds and pillows. I have stayed at the Brownstone in the winter as well as in the summer. The temp of the rooms is always perfect for sleeping. These rooms do not have televisions, which is perfectly fine with me since my fiancé and I do not bother with TV at home anyways. Robyn also keeps everything fully stocked, so that in case I forget anything from home, I know it will not be an issue. Thank you Robyn for always making us feel at home. We will return again soon!

This has been a 6th visit or more. As always our host Robin goes above and beyond to make us feel special and right at home From his friendly warm greeting and cozy bedrooms to his scrumptious breakfast, he keeps us coming back! Love catching up on all of the great things happening in Cleveland, the tour of his fantastic brownstone and its history, Robin knows all! Such a pleasure! We were in town briefly to see the Cavs. Left the car and called Uber. Great time on East 4th st after the game and back "home" for a perfect nights sleep before going back to NY. |Thank you Robin for your hospitality and for sharing your treasure with all of your guests. See you again soon!!

If you are like me, a frequent traveler, and do not like the sterile feeling of a traditional hotel, this is the place for you. Robin, the proprietor, could not have been a more congenial host. My first day here he drove me into downtown Cleveland and along the way gave me the history of the neighborhood. The following morning when I told him I could not eat eggs or sweet rolls for breakfast, he drove me to a nearby market and bought me skim milk, yogurt, fruit etc. The Inn felt very much like living in a brownstone apartment. Everything you need is provided...a full kitchen etc. and if you don't find what you need I guarantee Robin will get it for you. ||||The rooms are very comfortable...yes they are filled with antique furniture and the beds and pillows are as comfortable as those in my own home in NYC. I would recommend The Brownstone Inn to anyone who wants to feel at home, rather than to anyone looking for a Hilton etc. I loved the fact that the Inn is on the Healthline and just a few stops away from Downtown or The Cleveland Clinic and several nearby colleges. I came for the Gay Olympics and I can honestly say I have never had a better time in a small city. Robin was a big part of that.

I stayed here on a trip with my parents a few years ago (2013). At first it seemed charming, but it wore off fast. The rooms hadn't been thoroughly cleaned. The bathroom I near my room hadn't been cleaned either. In the dining area there was a basket of muffins, individually wrapped, that had gone moldy. The tour and conversation about the area, since we had never been to Cleveland before, eventually turned very uncomfortable when the owner started making insensitive and judgmental comments about black people and about low income individuals. I felt very uncomfortable, both due to the owner's attitudes and the lack of care for the rooms and guest experience. The only positive aspect I can remember from this visit was the food the owner served for breakfast. It was good, but not good enough to make up for the otherwise disappointing and unpleasant experience I had here.

Super nice metaphysical store with a healthy collection of crystals that I have not seen anywhere else. The owner was really helpful and knowledgeable. I loved this store and I would definitely visit again when I am in the Tremont area of Cleveland.
