Huge thanks to Mike! I stopped in for a drink to meet some friends after work. It's my second time in at Brown's and Mike was working last time too. Honestly the best local-friendly-brilliant bartender I've been served by in a really long time. Everybody knows him, they come in for him and he knows everyone's drinks.
My go-to shot, Casamigos Reposado, was given the "Mike Special" -- cinnamon and an orange slice. The best way to enjoy Casamigos, and quite brilliant!
Also as a gay man, sometimes quite eccentric I found this to be one of the most inclusive bars in all of Marin. At least by the staff (Mike) and (most) of the locals. Thanks for the great time and vibes, will be back and back!
Cool vibe laid back. Good drink’s affordable!
Great neighborhood dive bar that feels clean, has pool tables, and a digital jukebox. Prices... I never check 🤷🏻♂️ but anyway, try it out sometime.
Update: they chill their Fernet if that's your thing. It's my thing .. l o l 🥃
An ace of a local bar Joyce the owner was there on 7/4 to make sure all of her patrons were well cared for. The two bartenders Jules and unfortunately I didn't get the other lovely lady's name were cool and calm under pressure would recommend!
Love the bartender and crowd!
Always a great bar in Novato. Open later than basically any other bar around and best deals too. $5 draft, all draft, including the craft beers they carry. Awesome tequila selection as well, and great servers
Nice atmosphere, friendly patrons, awesome staff. Excellent Bloody Mary
Well, they don't call it Slow-vato for no reason. Was here on a Friday night around 9pm and there was hardly anyone in there. I know the Novato bar scene is bad, but I forgot how bad it really is. (not blaming the bar for this, just making a point) They did remodel since the last time I was in there many years ago so that was a nice surprise, but I found it weird that all of the lights were on, usually bars at night will turn them down a bit to "set the mood". Music was maybe a bit too loud for the number of people in there, but we made it work. Overall a fun night, but I'd rather go to Hopmonk if I'm going to go to any bar in Novato.
