You can get good information for exploring the county. It also has 3 floors with museum quality information on the county and the Dakota war.

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff worked with us for 5 hours. (one hour break for lunch) Displays, books, postcards, replicas of vintage toys, very impressive program offerings. If I didn't live in CA , I'd become a member! They had a photo of my great-great grandparents, grandparents of my grandmother, the original immigrants.

Very interesting, and intriguing displays. My visit was during World War 1.

This museum is phenominal! I was highly impressed with the first and third floors. I look forward to checking out the rest of the museum in the future. I am enjoying several, excellent books that I bought in their bookstore. The staff at the Brown County Historical Society is as impressive as the museum itself. I have found them to be very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, both on the phone and in person. They go above and beyond, an example being how they helped me locate my missing elderly relative!

Great museum and research resource.

Great staff and local museum displays and so much information on file from early settlers although there are limited and somewhat biased stories related to indigenous people.

Great source of local history information. I learned a lot of detail regarding the local history from pioneer/settlement through the WWII days. Staff was highly knowledgeable of the exhibits, friendly, and helpful. I hope this facility remains supported and has opportunity to expand it's information.
