Excellent little trailhead that connects to a ton of different, beautiful, enjoyable trails. Be a good steward and make sure you take care of the trail, as it is the National Park.
Being a southeast Tucson resident I come here quite frequently to take advantage of the magnificent scenery (this is part of Saguaro National Park East) and a nice paved 1.4 mi. walk from the parking lot to Mica View picnic area and back. You can extend that hike from the picnic area with several trails that are clearly marked. These trails are not paved but are very well maintained for the most part and a very easy hike for the entire family.
Convenient access to Sagauro National Park East, the Broadway trail head can be found about about 1/4 mile from the eastern most end of Broadway. The trailhead provides access to 4 trails that branch out though the park. The is no offical parking lot but there's plenty of room along the side of the road. The trails are all very easy, no elevation gain until much deeper into the park. The environment is classic Sonoran desert scrub and cactuses. Horses are allowed and frequent, as evidenced by their droppings. Dogs are also allowed the generously called, "paved path" (there was pavement at one point, but it's mostly a memory now)
Easy parking and clear map at the entrance. Very hot in the summer...dont be one of the people we see on the news, bring plenty of water with you even if you dont think you need it, trust me you will. Mostly flat with small inclines and declines good for beginners. We did about a 4 mile loop in an hour and 44 minutes and finished at 10:30am it was already 97 degrees. Be smart and be careful!
After exploring Saguaro West we wanted to check out the East side, to see if it’s different. The answer is yes, it’s very different from the West side, so we didn’t regret going. We did the Mica View to Cactus Forest trail. This is a nice short trail where you can see a great variety of cacti. We met a lady who told us she had seen a bobcat. We didn’t see it, but we saw an Antelope Jackrabbit. It was running very fast away from us. Overall, nice hike to get a feel of what the East side looks like. It’s interesting, even though we haven’t seen anything truly amazing.
A great trailhead with several options to choose from. This trailhead is located at the end of Broadway Blvd and is not in the actual national park, but the trails are all within the park and therefore a national park pass should be purchased. The most used trail is the Mica View trail which is a very well maintained mostly paved 3/4 mile (one way) from Broadway to the Mica View picnic area located along the park loop road. The trail provides plenty of sights along the way. Pets are permitted along this trail as well.
This spot is great for exploring and for photo shoots. Not a lot of people know about this spot so it is usually quiet. The end of the road does come up fast and more times than not people come up a little to quick to the parking area—so be cautious of this if you’re walking back to your car. The entire trail is free desert landscape. We’ve seen a range of wildlife animals here—including horses. I’ve attached 2 pictures from a time we went for a photoshoot. The photographer was Bre Goettle. She can be found by searching brekenseyphotos.
Dogs gotta stay on main trail..well maintained lots of sides paths but I can't take em ...NO DOGS ALLOWED OFF MAIN TRAIL
Get there an hour before sunset for golden hour. The light is magical and the parking lot was empty. Accessible paved path. Excellent cactus specimens (healthy, good variety) with informative signage.
A very nice but steep rocky trail. Beautiful views of the mountains, plants, saguaros and the city. This is way nicer than the Sabino Canyon, but harder. I highly recommend this trail, but make sure to wear comfy shoes.
Beautiful, quiet, relaxing and long. Bring plenty water, sunblock, hat and good walking shoes. Not an ankle breaker trail but best to be prepared with good shows. No dogs allowed. Plenty of wild life inside!
Contracted workers were completing trail improvements, so it was in great condition all the way to The Window! The first 2-3 miles was fairly easy, but gets more difficult as you climb.
Whatever kind of "-vore" you are, you will not be disappointed...these are some of the best pastries I've ever had! I was fortunate to stumble upon this place while visiting from out of town. I had a lovely chat with one of the owners who talked me

ADORABLE shop, lots of cute stationery, cards, and stickers. They do fun crafty events and this would be a great spot to create a trendy gift basket for a friend for any occasion!
Had a wonderful time with friends! The staff were friendly and helpful with instruction and staying engaged with our group. Facility was clean and organized. Having the option of throwing axes or throwing stars was neat! Will definitely come back.
The customer service matches the coffee here which is excellent! Their bakery items are made fresh and have many options for gluten free and vegan. House made syrups for their drinks add their signature touch. Ren is a staple to St. Phillips Plaza an
I really like this climbing gym. It's very close to lots of other things I go to, like Costco and home Depot. I like their emphasis on bouldering and the auto belays so that any climbing I do can be solo. I like the flexibility of the hours they allo
