Love this area since I was a child. Now I'm taking my family every year. The entire area is great. If you're wondering the ins and outs, advice. My only advice is this. After the pandemic, for some reason this place exploded. Every year before the pandemic there's locals, tourists... But not that many. There's a lot of people now, and parking.... PARKING is tough. You have the State Park lot, and the smaller lot closer to the bridge. Either way, if you want a good spot along river and parking space. Get there at 9am, no later than 10am. Or you'll be waiting for someone to leave. We have a state park pass. And today the Yuba GODS were with us. We pulled in at 10:50. ONE spot left. Awesome views, awesome trails nearby, refreshing water, fantastic SUMMER VIBES, there are life vests and bathrooms at the visitors center right behind the beach, up the hill, two minute walk. Just get there EARLY. Enjoy.
$5 parking, Visitor Center and barn with historic artifacts. Self guided tour with information signage. Walk through the covered bridge. Many options for marked trails.
Beautiful long covered bridge on the Yuba River. Nicely restored so fully accessible. The bridge and park are fully handicap accessible (I did not use the bathroom so am not certain of the situation there). Please note that there is a fee for parking. The bridge is the longest wooden bridge span on the Yuba River.
A structural masterpiece and a historically significant site. It's truly an amazing site to see and the walk through this slice of history is worth the drive. Bring your picnic and explore the area for the day. Make sure the museum is open for the extra slice of history. Enjoy your day and the amazing sites.
This is the longest covered bridge in the USA and definitely the most beautiful both inside and out. It is located in South Yuba River State Park. It does cost $10 to park, or you can use the annual state park pass. You are allowed to pan for gold (no tools other than pan) in the river but there isn't much gold here.
What a fun adventure! The bridge is really cool and the view from the windows on the bridge was really pretty! I had so much fun. The visitors center was closed so didn’t see that. The gas station was really cool. It is close access to the river. It’s very clean and there are lots of shaded areas, picnic tables, and the cleanest park bathrooms I have ever been in. It was a great experience.
Absolutely amazing place!! Took the family for the first time. So cool to see all the old equipment in the barn. The bridge was magnificent!! I highly recommend taking a trip with the family or even just a solo walk!
I fell in love! So much to see and learn. Peaceful and gorgeous! We loved exploring and can't wait to visit again!!
