We were in town visiting family and had lunch here. I had the baked cod, my honey had the fish and chips. My uncle got his usual, stuffies. Of course, I had to try the clam chowder, as that is my thing since moving to New England. I’ve gotta say, everything was delicious. Great service and a great atmosphere topped it off. Thanks for a great visit, we will be back!
I came here for dinner my very first night in Newport. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess that seated me was very bubbly and welcoming. My server, who I believe her name was Amy, was friendly and attentive. I ordered the lobster bisque, salmon entree, and chocolate molten cake from the decent sized menu. Everything was great, but I wish they would have given just a little more garlic mashed potatoes for the side dish that comes with the salmon entree. Otherwise, the lobster bisque was creamy and flavorful, and the chocolate cake was very rich. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is very clean. If you get a chance to use the restroom, the area upstairs is quite cool to check out. Overall, I was pretty pleased with my experience dining here, and I will surely come here again the next time I visit the area.
Perhaps one of the most popular places in the city. And for good reason the food here is amazing. The restaurant is huge, but nevertheless it can be difficult to find an empty seat. If you come for the weekend or just during the season, I recommend booking a table in advance, otherwise you will have to wait more than an hour at the bar (at best). Definitely need to order a Lobster Roll here. There is a lot of lobster meat and it so fresh and juicy. And I really liked the clam chowder.
Food at this establishment was delicious. The salad bar looked so good (we would have had that if someone told us about it as we were being seated). We were seated immediately, but it took quite a while for our waitress to take our order. Once ordered, our waitress gave customers that were seated after us their meal before we got ours. She never came back to check on us after we received our food. Just gave us our bill once we finished eating.
5:00 to 7:00 is busiest time - salad bar and soup worth it. 5 star French onion soup is one of the better versions I have had in New England. The scallops were ok 3 stars. Over cooked. Brie and apple crostini app 4 star. If able to wait in bar and grab a Guinness. Bartenders were responsive. Meal cost $120. For two. Not bad two drinks appetizer soups and two mains.
The food here was AMAZING!! The menu is huge and everything sounded great. Our food had so much flavor. Every wall in this place is covered with fun memorabilias. Great service. Overall awesome experience. I’ll definitely be back!
We visited RI and went to have lunch here. It was so crowded (I was very skeptical at first but it turned out to be one of our very best experience in Newport RI) We were seated very quickly although it was pretty busy. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese with garlic mashed potatoes and I have no regrets! It was so good, packed with lobster. (I have come to realize that RI is one of the places in New England that does NOT short you on the lobster) I would do this all over again (if I can) I tried clam chowder for the first time and it was good. My husband had Penne Al pomodoro with chicken and garlic toast— it was soo yummy. We definitely recommend this place and be sure to get their garlic mashed (one of the best)
Walked down Brick Market & came across this restaurant. The atmosphere was fun - there is so much to look at! I had a cup of lobster bisque, ahi tuna salad, my SO a Caesar salad & daughter the grilled cheese. Nothing super extravagant but the food was good! I HIGHLY recommend the watermelon lemonade. It's FANTASTIC! Our server Melanie was excellent. We stopped by to eat a half hour after they opened & was seating right away. By the time we left, it started to get pretty busy. I'm not sure if they take reservations, but well worth the visit if you're in the area.
