The problems started when we booked through Expedia; in order to get into your room you are supposed to recieve an email with a passcode for the pin lock on the door - we never received the email and there is not a front desk office. We called the property manager and he said that is usual for third party bookings to not get the email, but he gave us the code which did not work right away so we had to call him back to fix it. When we entered our room we were immediately hit with the smell of stale cigarette smoke. We went and purchased an air freshener that did little to mask the smell. The website garunteed WiFi access but when we attempted to log on we could not gain access. After considering the smell and the lack of WiFi along with the splatter of who knows what on the wall by the garbage can we called the property manager back to inquire about canceling the rest of our reservation and he admitted to having previous knowledge of the WiFi not working and stated he would agree to give us a refund for our unused nights. Camden, the property manager that we spoke to, then went on to deny our refund when we filed for one through Expedia.
This is the second time I have stayed here. Upon first site of the motel, it looks a little sketchy - kids toys were strewn in the parking lot and it appeared alot of people "live" there and outside isn't super clean BUT once in my room on the second floor it was totally fine!!! The room was clean and although no coffee maker, it was clean and quiet and another good stay for the night!!!
The stay was okay. The checkin process was awesome. Room was clean enough minus the bathroom walls. Safe area of town and close to restaurants and shopping. The place desperately needs an updating. And it seems there are long term residents/apartments on site as well.
When my husband and I got there, check in was easy and we just threw our stuff on the bed and carried on with our plans for the day. When we came back to get ready for bed, we noticed an old and dry blood stain right on top of the comforter. We then noticed another one on the actual pillow. How were these items approved by housekeeping or even management?! IT HAS SOMEONE’S BLOOD ON THEM. When I called the office, since it’s not in person anymore, I got an attitude and not even an apology. I am completely dumbfounded that it is okay for a motel to let things like someone’s bodily fluids be placed for other people to sleep on. Cheap? Absolutely. That is disgusting beyond measure. They also don’t offer wash clothes anymore, so bring your own. We will never be staying here again.
Positive: "" Negative: No way to check in. We had to call a number and get a code, which didn?t work at first. But once we got in it was fine. It is an older hotel, but everything was well maintained and clean.
Positive: "" Negative: It was dirty, room smelled, and it was a poor check in process. There was no staff at the motel as everything was remote and communicated by text and phone. Carpets were dirty and bathroom was not clean. We checked out and went to another motel.
The check in process was great. Enter room by phone number. When we first entered our room it smelled of mildew. The carpet was stained. 1 lamp didnt work so had to leave bathroom light continuously. Little fridge froze all food. I had to go buy a plunger because the toilet clogged. The sink drained slow. No bathroom exhaust fan. And looked like nicotine was coming down the walls. Exhaust fan was gross. I was going to go somewhere else but my husband said its fine. Went out the next day. We were gone all day and took a hoodie. The hoodie smelled like mildew from the air. All of our clothed- clean or dirty- smelled like the room. We left our shoes on the whole time. The beds were comfortably and clean. NO BUGS. I talked to another couple and said i would leave a review because our room didnt look like the pictures and wasnt super happy after paying $144 a night. I said "I would say that it is very very OK" and he said "that would be generous". Would not stay again
Positive: The ability to spend time with family in an outdoor setting. The decks provided at The Brentwood are a wonderful spot to share time with family members. Also, the bed linens were very clean. The AC worked. Negative: The contactless approach to providing services for guests needs to be rethought. Telephones used by housekeeping staff are used to find solutions to problems instead of a human being dealing with any issues on the spot.
We stayed at Nestledown back in July and it was amazing! We stayed in the cottage and I think it was honestly the best place we've ever stayed! It was unbelievably clean (felt like we were the first ones to ever stay there!) and so peaceful and quiet
