One of my favorite places to visit, it’s the highest pick of Georgia. Brasstown Bald provides spectacular 360 degree view of the mountains. The best time is to go during fall peak. Drive to visitor center & deck is simply mesmerizing. Some info - -Parking is free -If you want to take a shuttle to the top, it’s $7 per person. Kids are free. - You can also hike to the deck from parking lot; it’s around 1.5 miles but it’s little stiff may not be kid friendly. - There are multiple shuttles they keep taking trips. - Restrooms are available & maintained. - Do not skip visiting the center at deck, it has lot of natural preserves & information. Alert- if you are going peak fall season, be ready to wait in line for an hr or two in car just before entrance. But absolutely worth the visit!

Brasstown Bald is a great place to visit. The hike up to the viewing platform and museum is invigorating and beautiful. You can also ride the van up if you're not up to a short hike. The views from there are wonderful! Mr. Frank at the desk at the center was very informative and gave us some great tips on other places to visit as well as a great recommendation for a place for lunch. Definitely stop by if you get the chance!!

This is the tallest mountain in Georgia. Hubby and I did not hike to the top, but we will climb when the weather warms up. The center offers a shuttle from the visitors' center to the tower on top of the mountain. Or you can take the .06 mile steep hike. There's plenty of parking in the winter months, of course.

Amazing short hike! The views are spectacular!4,784 above sea level. The highest point in the state of Ga! If you can’t make the walk there is shuttle. We hiked it up and back down! We were fortunate enough to have come when they had a Raptor Show!

Nice and clean place.. Fall colors were really very awesome and its a great deal to see from the top of the Georgias highest point.. kid friendly visitor center my kid liked the bear, deer displays and the train engine. Request to management, Please have additional pay stations or kiosks, we waited more than an hour to get entry.

Beautiful is the best single word to describe this place! We came at the end of November and it was mighty cold but still worth the heartache of my kids complaining. It's totally worth the 8 bucks per adult (kids free) and the shuttle to the top was so worth it. When you get up there they have a little 14 minute film that you may watch and my kids loved it. As you can see the views are spectacular and if you go on a clear day you can see very far!

A must-see location in the Georgia area. This location has a lot of reasons that you should see it. It is key to the history of the area. It is the highest point and it has a very nice visitor center. Please check the opening times prior to your arrival. It opens at 10 am on weekdays. If you get there early, you will have to wait for them to open. There is a lot of parking at a lot a few hundred feet below the visitor’s center. We got there early on a weekday but I was told that this location has a lot of traffic and can get very busy. I would recommend getting there early. There are 2 ways to reach the higher observation point and visitor’s center. Either, you can walk up a steep path or you can take the shuttle for $3 per person. I highly recommend the shuttle as it pays for a ride up and down and is well worth it. The view from the top is spectacular. The visitors center is a little dated but extremely informative. The observation deck is open but the tower is closed. There is a 14-minute movie that describes the area through the seasons. The center has many hands-on displays that show the history of the area and are very interesting and informative. The staff was very helpful and friendly and I highly recommend this as one of your stops if you are in the area. Enjoy.

Went on a Monday morning; the center opened at 10 AM. Charge was $8 per adult without a national park annual pass. This includes the shuttle ride up and back from parking lot to the visitor center. Or you can hike up a paved walkway 0.6 miles to the summit. All in all a great visit and worth experiencing. Also included a visit to the museum and a short movie in the center.

So you want 5 star food without the pretentious atmosphere? This place has got you covered. I've never been to a restaurant with a more laid back vibe. The lighting, the music, and the staff were all warm and inviting. The food was out of this world.

Lunch time for three! Order at the counter and they bring to you. Can dine indoors or out on covered porch. Indoor dining area is tight but definitely fits a good BBQ dining spot along with decor. Barely a wait for entrees. Pulled pork sandwiche
