Brandywine Ski Area - Ski resort in Northfield - 1146 W Highland Rd, USA

My daughter loves skiing here with her elementary school's ski club, and truthfully, she made far more progress here than during group and private lessons at larger resorts! She has basic skills and more importantly, now the confidence to safely navigate hills and ride lifts. Highly recommended for beginner and intermediate lessons at a minimum. Also a small enough resort that your kid can be found pretty easily from the mountain base, even if you're not with them. Finally, the lodge & bar are ideal for relaxing, getting a snack or drink. Love the fireplace. Very clean entry and rental area as well! Pretty full circle when your kid learns at the same spot you did 30ish years later!

Been coming here several years, and when I was a beginner it was quite entertaining but now it seems like even the black diamonds are too short and slow. Went on 1/20/24 with a snow storm just happening the day prior, perfect fluffy snow and they decide to turn on the blowers and according to the employees it’s to prepare for the next week with warmer weather (could run them after hours) made everything and everyone much more miserable with freezing slush. Wasn’t able to bring my skis that day so had to pay for rental, ended up costing $116 for 4 hours. Better to go to Holiday Valley, WV, or out west for better prices and atmosphere.

We had an awesome day here. We rented boots, boards, and helmets all were decent quality. We spent most of the day on the green beginner slopes and several people helped us figure out how to snowboard. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a cafeteria with good enough food and it's right next to the bar were you can grab a beer to help heal your sore tailbone. Highly recommended.

The open slopes were in good condition, the two front slopes were closed, not enough snow. But the snow guns went on at about closing time, my guess is they will open soon. A boarder hit his head on the hill, ski patrol came quick and took good care of him. Stopped at the bar for a beer after skiing, nice bartender and good selection of drinks.

So much fun! Love the free lessons every 30 minutes. Going to be going back again soon!

While Brandywine has no control over the weather, they DO have control over notifying paying customers about closures. We bought tickets for Polar Blast tubing (purchased online 1.5 months before reserved date) and traveled 3 hours from another state. Hours before driving to the ski resort ,we noticed the BMBW website indicates BW is closed until further notice. We sent a message via email (seems it's the only option) and are hoping for a reply and a refund. With a 2 night hotel stay in Macedonia, this was certainly an expensive way to find out that we won't be trying snow tubing for now.

Scouts had a great time tubing, and the lodge was nice place to warm up and get something to eat. Staff was nice and the price was right. $20 for 3 hours, $5 off the regular price.
